Our Mission

Go, therefore and teach all nations
It is our mission to help people come to understand the Bible and who our loving God is. The goal is to welcome and encourage those who are seeking peace, love, and forgiveness in their lives, and to connect them with their Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, so that they, too, may be saved by His grace.

About Hope Lutheran Church

We are a Lutheran (Christian) church affiliated with the North American Lutheran Church (NALC) and the Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC). Our congregation was founded in 1983 under the name Hope Lutheran Church of Cedar Hill and recently moved to the Midlothian area which is more central to our members. We have a family vibe about us, and people enjoy sitting together and visiting before and after services. We are inclusive, and welcome anyone who wants to learn more about the Bible and develop a personal relationship with our Lord, Jesus Christ. Our website details the beliefs we share and has photos of our current temporary worship and pictures of our weekly congregational luncheons and our women's Bible study group, Faith Circle. We are actively searching for a permanent worship location in the area, but are currently worshipping in the chapel of the Midlothian Funeral Home--a very nice church-like atmosphere.

MINISTRIES AND GROUPS

Church Ministries
Women’s
It is our plan, as we move to a more permanent facility, to open up multiple ministries to our membership and guests. We already have some activities at the homes of our members who are scattered throughout the communities south of Dallas and Fort Worth. The first ministry that most people would experience is the togetherness and family atmosphere of our congregation.

BELIEFS

We follow the Lutheran beliefs of Sola Scriptura, Sola Gratia, and Sola Fide (Bible, grace, and faith). The Bible is the only source of truth; we are saved by grace (not works); and it is by faith in the one true God that we are saved. Details of our faith are shared in the "What is a Lutheran" section of our website - www.hopelutheran.net You can also look at the NALC website - thenalc.org We celebrate two sacraments: Holy Baptism and Holy Communion. We preach from both the Old and New Testaments--all are God's Word and lessons for us. Our congregations typically consist of people who grew up in a wide variety of Christian denominations including Roman Catholic, Baptist, Presbyterian, Anglican, Episcopal, Methodist, Pentecostal, Bible churches, and others. We welcome all people, all ages, and do not discriminate. All people are created by God and are freely offered His salvation through the death and resurrection of Christ. Specific questions may be addressed to our pastor.
