About shalom church
Joceley Silveira was born in a small town in Brazil. He gave his life to the Lord at a young age and preached his first message when he was 16 years old. A few years later God called Joceley to be a pastor. He planted a few churches as a single man. God called Joceley to move to Curitiba, Brazil to be the Senior Pastor at a church called “Fonte da Vida” where he would later meet his wife Jennifer. Jennifer was born in Tacoma, Washington but lived also in Oregon and California. After living in California she served as a missionary and visited seven different nations preaching and teaching the gospel in churches and outreaches. Not long after that she met her husband Joceley on a trip to Brazil. God spoke to Jennifer in an audible voice that she would marry Joceley. She didn’t speak Portuguese and he didn’t speak English so God had a sense of humor, doesn’t He. Jennifer went back to the U.S. for six months and then returned to Brazil to marry her future husband.
The couple started their journey of Faith together, with no money, only a couple of suitcases each and a Big God! God did many miracles for them from the start of their marriage. They lived on a street called “Holy Faith Street”...literally. Each day of their life together in Brazil was walking by Faith and not by Sight. The couple pastored together in Curitiba, where they built a church, and were overseers at two other churches. Joceley had a successful weekly radio ministry. They started a language school to help the body of Christ prepare for missions. They preached at several events and conferences, mentored many disciples, and supported a local orphanage.
Joceley and Jennifer were at the height of their ministry when God spoke to leave everything behind and come to the United States to live. God did a number of miracles for them to be able to leave Brazil and come to the U.S. It was very difficult for them to leave because they loved the people of Curitiba so much but they wanted to obey the Lord. They made a commitment to follow Him wherever He called them to serve. A few months later, they left their home, family, friends, church and a lot of spiritual children behind. This was a difficult thing to do but the grace of God was upon them. They arrived in Puyallup, Washington where most of Jennifer’s family resides.
The couple has settled in Puyallup, Washington. They are now planting “Shalom Church” on South Hill Puyallup with a Kingdom Vision and work with several ministries. Joceley and Jennifer are continuing to live a life of faith and are seeing God’s provision and miracles every day.

BELIEFS
What We Believe
“There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.” Ephesians 4:4-6 NIV
ONE WORD
We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative Word of God also constituting the Divine and only rule of Christian faith and practice.
John 17:17; II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:21; and Revelation 22:18-19
ONE GOD
We believe there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit; and have the same attributes and perfections. Genesis 1:2, 26-27; Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 14:10, 26; II Corinthians 13:14; and I John 5:7
ONE SAVIOR
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God; He is true God and true man, having conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary. He had a sinless life; He died and rose again for all mankind and ascended into Heaven and became the only mediator between God and man. Jesus is at the right hand of the Father and is today making intercession for us. We believe Jesus will return for His church in power and glory. Through Him every man can receive salvation by confessing Jesus as Lord and Savior and believing that God raised Him from the dead. Luke 1:26-35; John 1:14; 14:6; Acts 4:12; Romans 10:9-10; I Timothy 2:5-6; Hebrews 7:25; and I John 2:1, 2; 4:9
ONE SPIRIT
We believe that in the moment you receive Jesus in your life, the Holy Spirit comes into the new Christian. We also believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with speaking in other tongues, as the Spirit gives the utterance, to be the initial evidence of this experience. We believe in the operation of the Gifts of the Spirit and we also encourage people to live a life filled with the Holy Spirit. Mark 16:17; Luke 1:14; John 20:22; Acts 1:5; 2:4; 4:31; 10:44-46; 13:52; 19:6; Romans 8:9 ,26; I Corinthians 12:4-11; Ephesians 5:18
ONE CHURCH
We believe in the church as the form of the Body of Christ on earth today; Jesus is the head and we are the body. Its earthly constituents are all true believers, born again of the Spirit and of the Word, who are living an overcoming Christian life. John 3:6; Romans 12:5; 1 Corinthians 3:11; 12:27; Ephesians 1:22, 23; 2:20; 5:27; 1 Peter 1:23; Revelation 21:9b, and Colossians 1:18
ONE BAPTISM
We believe in water baptism by immersion in water in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Baptism is a symbolic representation; a picture of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ and is a testimony of death to sin and resurrection to a new life. Matthew 3:11; 28:18-19; Acts 2:38-39; 8:36-39; 16:30-34; I Corinthians 1:14; Colossians 2:12, and Romans 6:4;
ONE FAMILY
We believe in marriage between one man and one woman; they become one flesh. Family is very important to God. We believe with God in the center of your marriage a cord of three strands is not easily broken. The cord of three strands symbolizes the joining of one man, one woman, and God into a marriage relationship. It was God who taught us to love. By keeping Him at the center of your marriage, His love will continue to bind you together as one throughout your marriage. We promote strong family values. Genesis 2:24, Leviticus 18:22; Ecclesiastes 4:12; Matthew 19:5-6; Ephesians 5:31-33; 6:1-4; and Hebrews 13:4
