Central Baptist Church is a Bible believing independent Baptist church assembled for the worship of the Lord Jesus Christ and the proclamation of His gospel in Hampton, Newport News, and Yorktown - Hampton Roads - and throughout the world. The church building is conveniently located minutes from Langley Air Force Base Family Housing.

BELIEFS
1. Jesus Christ comes first -
Always! He is the perfect Son of the Living God and worthy of all praise and glory. Salvation lies only in the atoning blood of the Lord Jesus Christ. "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." (Rom 6:23)
2. The Bible is the complete, infallible, and divinely inspired Word of God -
It is the final authority for God's wisdom, saving knowledge of Jesus Christ, faith, and our Christian walk. We use the King James version of the Bible. "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness" (2 Tim 3:16)
3. All who sincerely trust Jesus Christ are eternally secure in Him -
We are kept by God. He will not cast us away and nothing may separate us from him. "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." (John 5:24)
4. We are saved by grace through faith -
Salvation is given as a gift from God for His glory. No matter how hard he tries, Man may not achieve salvation. We have faith in and a personal relationship with the Living God. We do not have “religion”. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God" (Eph 2:8)
5. We are saved to glorify God -
God is glorified when believers submit to his Word. Ours is a selfless faith. "He must increase, but I must decrease." (John 3:30)
6. We are missions minded -
Foreign missionary support is an important part of our service and integral to our calling to fulfill the Great Commission. We also recognize that there is a great need for the Word of God in our own community. “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” (Matt 28:19)
