Meet The Pastor
Pastor Tim White
Winchester Baptist Church covenanted together as a church on 9.9.12 being commissioned as a church-plant out of Sterling Park Baptist Church in Sterling, VA (formerly Guilford Baptist Church until a recent merger).
Though we recognize our utter inability to effectively plant a church, our confidence is in the fact that we are fellow-workers with God in His mission. We will be faithful to plant and water, but it is God who will "cause the growth" (1 Corinthians 3:5-9). In fact, it is helpful to remember that what we are really planting, according to this text, is the Gospel. Tim Keller affirms, "Don’t plant churches; plant the Gospel. Plant the Gospel and the church will grow."
We exist for the Gospel and the glory of Christ. We are a community of sinners who have been graciously reconciled to God and to one another through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Our hope is to emphasize that grace and that Gospel in everything we do. Scripture is our authority and guide for faith and practice. To that end, our desire is to reflect, as much as is possible, what Scripture teaches that a church should be and do. We want to be a healthy church, marked by the kinds of biblical essentials articulated by our friends at 9Marks (visit their website here):
Expositional Preaching.
Biblical Theology.
Biblical Understanding of the Gospel.
Biblical Understanding of Conversion.

Our congregation has a heartfelt desire to positively impact Winchester with the Gospel and grace of Jesus Christ. We’re praying that God will work through us to bring sinners to repentance and faith and gather laborers that will work alongside us for the Gospel.
