So, you're probably thinking, right away, "Yeah, right...this'll be real unbiased". Not so fast, my friend!! Between my first and second visits, it was close to a year and a half. At first, I thought, "well, I'll keep checking around.." What drew me back?? The lack of "personal touch" elsewhere...the feeling of "just going through the motions" elsewhere. I've been back at St. Luke Anglican for between 1.5 and 2 years now, taken on the role of Senior (Rector's) Warden, and become involved in serving at the altar. I think you'll find us to be a welcoming place, and one where we're not afraid of tradition or inviting you (and others) to join in our fellowship. I'm not the only member who got the distinct impression (from that "tug at the heart" and/or "still, small voice") that this was where I needed to be. Are we small? At the moment, yes. Are we growing? Again, yes. In fact, our goal is to work on gaining 30 more members by the end of May, 2015. Are we more interested in body count (filling the pews) than spiritual formation and growth? Nope. What would that prove? We prefer to rejoice over each new person, each new soul, than to try and impress with statistical sheets.
Look, what have you to lose? You just might find your way home; but, the journey begins with the first step, of driving out Patterson Avenue (Rt. 6). Have a look at the website (stlukesrichmond.org)...the directions are posted there. Join us, won't you? Thank you...
"Come and see !!..."
