Meet The Pastor

Timothy Yeghian
Welcome and thank you for taking a look. We hope and pray that you find the perfect fellowship that you are looking for.
We are a small fellowship that currently by the Grace of God meets in Palmer and God willing will start one soon in Anchorage. We meet to praise God, for Christian fellowship, and to learn to read our New Testament in Greek so that we can have a deeper, fuller, and richer understanding of our relationship with God.
The center to our fellowship is this. When the scribe saw that Jesus' response was a very good reply, he asked him this, "Sir, what is the first commandment?" Jesus said this:
Mark 12:29-30, "“The first is, ‘Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one; 30 you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ 31 The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” 32 Then the scribe said to him, “You are right, Teacher; you have truly said that ‘he is one, and besides him there is no other’; 33 and ‘to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the strength,’ and ‘to love one’s neighbor as oneself,’—this is much more important than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.”
So at the end of Matthew Jesus tells his disciples this: Matthew 28:18-20, "And Jesus came and said to them, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.' ”
As the Day of the Lord is today that is what our fellowship is basically all about. I suppose people want to know something about me, which makes me feel funny because it isn't about me, but about God. I serve a living God. You might view my calling to be different. I am an American citizen. I am also ethnically Armenian. My education was two fold, one, majoring with one arm in Hellenistic Koine / Biblical Greek and with the other arm, majoring and studying Linguistics and Teaching English. Long story short, I have a significant amount of the Greek New Testament memorized, so when I crossed into countries where Christianity and the Bible were illegal, it didn't matter. The Lord sent me to Communist Red China and certain places in the Middle East where I smuggled the Bible in by hiding it in my head.
Today I have been so blessed, such mercy, to be here, and to meet Christians in my own country. I respect that this is not for all Christians, but some Christians have come to me asking, "Brother Tim, my KJV says this, and my NIV says that, but the NRSV says something different? What is God telling me here?" So I started teaching them to read it in Greek for themselves. Thank you and God bless you and your family. No collection plate, no fees for parking, no fees for men's camp or women's camp, - if you feel that you are called to learn, and cannot even afford to buy your own notebook and pencil, God will provide all that you need. Promise.
