BELIEFS
Christian Science is a bible-based religion, based on the teachings of Christ Jesus. We understand God to be both willing and able to bless mankind. God is Love. God is omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscience. God’s son, Christ Jesus, shows us the way. All of God’s creatures are made in His image and likeness, pure and perfect. Baptism is not a rite or ritual, but rather the purifying of one’s life, through spiritualizing thought. As we get closer to understanding God and His nature, we lose fear, doubt, sin. Baptism, then, is an everyday experience, as we’re taught to leave off the “old man,” and to “put on the new man.” Healing of sickness, sin, disease occurs regularly through learning how to pray as Christ Jesus teaches his disciples. We do not have a creed, but do have a set of tenants we follow. Communion is twice a year, and rather than physically drinking wine and eating bread, we understand communion to symbolize our daily taking in of the inspiration (wine) of spiritual understanding, and partaking of the truth (bread) of Christ Jesus’ teachings. Christian Science was discovered by Mary Baker Eddy in 1866. Afterward she wrote Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, to elucidate the healing laws of God and His creation. These two books are our Pastors. Join us for our Sunday services and Wednesday evening testimony meetings! We’d love to answer your questions!
