Meet The Pastor
Campus Pastor Jason Swiggart
Jason Swiggart serves as the Cypress Campus Pastor. Jason has been on staff at Houston's First since 1995 and most recently served as the Ministries Pastor.
Born in Garland, Texas, Jason was raised in a Christian home and accepted Christ's gift of salvation at the age of 12. While he was a sophomore at Baylor, he was called by God to full-time ministry. He came to Houston in 1988 as a student at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary for a summer internship — and he's still here in H-Town.
Jason served for 8 years in youth ministry before joining the Houston's First staff in 1995. He has served our church as Minister to Married Young Adults and most recently as the Ministries Pastor, shepherding ministries from Preschool through Senior Adults, plus Men and Women.
A strong love for the church has always been a hallmark of Jason's ministry. He not only loves the people who make up the church, but he also enjoys participating in what the church has to offer — and not just because he's a staff member!
Jason met Paige, his wife, on a blind date in 1992. Today, they have three sons -- Chambers (entering college this fall), Harrison (high school sophomore), and Preston (8th grader). Jason's passion for people, marriages and families is evident in how he lives his life and how he encourages and disciples other young families, as well.
