Dr. John Owston
John Owston has served Belvue Christian Church since 1984. In addition to preaching each Lord's Day morning and evening, he also teaches an adult Sunday school class, leads the Wednesday evening Bible study and is the church's choir director. Originally from Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, John has had previous pastoral ministries in Kentucky, West Virginia and Virginia. Beyond high school, his formal education includes studies at ten different schools, including Bible institutes, colleges, universities and seminaries. He has six earned academic degrees and has taught at both the college and seminary level. He received the Doctor of Ministry (DMin) degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C. John and his wife have four grown sons and two grandchildren.
