Our Mission

Ember Church exists to ignite life in those who are broken, disenfranchised and far from God, and to fan into flame the embers of the found. We do this by Shadowing God, Cultivating Learning, and Loving Recklessly!

BELIEFS

What Are Our Essentials In AD 325, the Emperor Constantine called together 120 bishops from across the Roman Empire to agree on a statement of what all Christians believe (The Creed). The Nicene Creed is named after the place where they met. We unite by this one statement of belief with the Christian churches of the world and the historic Church. In the 1970’s a modern English translation was made. Ember Church holds to this Creed as its “essentials”. The Nicene Creed We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is, seen and unseen. We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, of one Being with the Father. Through him all things were made. For us and for our salvation he came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary, and was made man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate; he suffered death and was buried. On the third day he rose again in accordance with the Scriptures; he ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son he is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one holy catholic* and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins**. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen. *The term “catholic” is in reference to the global Christian community, rather than any particular denomination. **God forgives sins only on the basis of repentance and faith in Christ. Baptism in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19) is the one baptism that serves as an indicator that conversion has supposedly happened within the individual. ”And that water is a picture of baptism, which now saves you, not by removing dirt from your body, but as a response to God from a clean conscience. It is effective because of the resurrection of Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 3:21 (NLT)
