ABOUT CROSSCREEK COMMUNITY CHURCH

We are a church designed for people who don't normally go to church: they either gave up on church, haven't attended before, or want something a little different than a traditional church. We desire to lead people into a transforming relationship with Jesus Christ through Discovering God at our Sunday service, Connecting with His people, Contributing to His mission, and Sharing His love with everyone. We have tried to remove obstacles during our Discover service for people who have church hurts or lots of questions about the Christian Faith. We avoid "Christianese," don't pass an offering basket, save meet and greet time for before or after the service, engage families with fun kids' environments, and keep our meeting times short and to the point.

BELIEFS

Vision: Create an irresistible church for people who don’t normally go to church.

Crosscreek Community Church Statement of Faith

The Bible: We believe the entire Bible is the inspired Word of God and that men were moved by the Spirit of God to write the very words of Scripture. Therefore, we believe the Bible is without error in its original manuscripts and is sufficient as our only rule of faith and practice. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21)

God: We believe in one God who eternally exists in three distinct and separate persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each of Whom is God and to be honored and worshipped as God. (Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)

Jesus Christ: We believe that Jesus Christ is God who became flesh to reveal God to humanity and to be the Savior of the lost world. He lived a sinless life, was crucified for our sins, resurrected from the dead, ascended to heaven, and is coming back again to establish His Kingdom on earth.
(Matthew 1:23; John 1:1. 14, 29; John 3:16; 1 Corinthians 15:3, 4, 12-22; Colossians 1:13-20; Hebrews 4:15; 1 John 2:1-2; Acts 1:9-11)

Holy Spirit: We believe the Holy Spirit is God, convicting the world, causing spiritual birth, baptizing all believers into one body in Christ, indwelling, sealing, sanctifying, guiding, and teaching every believer, as well as filling and controlling those who walk in obedience to God and His Word. (John 3:5; John 14:16-17; John 16:7-13; Romans 8:14; 1 Corinthians 6:11, 19; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Galatians 5:16-17; Ephesians 4:30; Ephesians 5:18-21)

Humanity: We believe that all people were created in the image of God to have fellowship with him but became alienated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. As a result, people are incapable of regaining a right relationship with God through their own efforts.(Genesis 1:26-28; Genesis 2:7; Genesis 3:1-24; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12; Ephesians 2:3)

Salvation: We believe that the blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the sole basis for the forgiveness of sin. Therefore, God freely offers
salvation to those who place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Every believer has eternal life and complete security in the death and resurrection of Christ. (John 3:16; John 14:6; Acts 16:31; Romans 3:24; Romans 6:23; Romans 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5; 1 Peter 1:18-19, 22-25; 1 John 5:11-13)

The Christian Life: We believe all Christians should live for Christ and not for themselves. By obedience to the Word of God and daily yielding to the Spirit of God, every believer should mature and be conformed to the image of Christ. It is the mandate of every believer to be a witness for Jesus Christ and “make disciples of all nations.” (Matthew 4:19; Matthew 28:18-20; Romans 12:2; Ephesians 4:11-5:2)

The Church: We believe that the church is the body of Christ, of which Jesus Christ is the head. The members of the church are those who have trusted by faith the finished work of Christ. The purpose of the church is to glorify God by loving him and by making him known to the lost world.
(Matthew 16:18, Matthew 28:18-20; Romans 12:5; Colossians 1:18)
