Our Mission
Wilmington Friends Meeting seeks to be a community of faith that nurtures the living light of Christ in its members and welcomes others who desire a personal relationship with Christ.
The Meeting seeks to strengthen the faith of individuals and encourages a close fellowship among them. Members are encouraged to “let their lives speak”.
The fruit of the spirit of the Meeting includes social action through care of the elderly, the poor, and the disadvantaged.
We seek to promote peace on a personal, community, national, and world level.
We seek to have Christ speak through us, out of the silence, to transform lives and the world in a distinctive way for the glory of God.

This is a church full of thoughtful people, coming from different perspectives and worshiping together. They have a strong youth program, and excellent music. Overall, a great place!

Wilmington Friends Meeting's food pantry is open on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month, from 9:30am - 11am. We are also able, in certain situations, to offer Kroger vouchers and assistance with paying utility bills. Please call the office for more information.
BELIEFS
Quakers believe that Christ is living and present among us, teaching and leading us himself. We believe that life in the Kingdom of God is necessarily one of integrity, simplicity, and peace, so (with Divine assistance) we do our best to live as Jesus lived. We believe that the Spirit that moved Biblical men and women to prophesy is alive and well, working among the people of God, urging us toward gentleness, justice, and love.
