BELIEFS
Of Scripture...The Scriptures of the Old and New Testament3 are verbally inspired by God and are inerrant and infallible in the original writings. They are our supreme and final authority in all matters of faith, life, and practice4.
Of God...There is only one God,5 the living and true God6 who is eternally self-existent and the creator of all things. God is all-knowing, all-powerful, and all-present. He is unconditionally loving, relentlessly merciful, and absolutely just. He has revealed himself to eternally exists in one essence, yet three co-equal persons, the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit7.
Of Jesus Christ...Jesus Christ, fully human and fully God, was begotten by God, conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born to the virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, performed miracles, died a substitutionary death on the cross, rose from the dead on the third day, and is at the right hand of God interceding for his people.
Of the Holy Spirit...The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, Who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He is the life of the believer, indwelling our confidence of salvation and sonship, and the empowerment of all preaching and teaching of the gospel.
Of Humanity...Humanity was created in the image of God, male and female, as such, designed to be representatives for God on the earth. They sinned against God by disobeying his explicit command and thereby incurred not only physical death, but spiritual death, which is separation from God. Because of our first parent’s rebellion against God by disobeying his explicit command, all humanity is born in sin (original), and all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God in their personal actions (actual). Therefore, from that time and onward, all human beings are born with a sinful nature.
Of Redemption...The Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the basis of His shed blood.
Of the New Birth...All who receive by faith the Lord Jesus Christ are born again by the Holy Spirit, and subsequently become children of God and heirs of eternal life.
Of the Holy Spirit...The fruit of the Spirit is the by-product of a spirit-filled life and evidence of spiritual maturity. The gifts of the Spirit should be earnestly sought and used to serve others, edify the church, and glorify God. We believe every Christian, empowered by the Holy Spirit, will be an effective witness for God throughout the world.
Of the Resurrection of Jesus Christ...The crucified body of our Lord was resurrected, He ascended into heaven, and he is presently active as our High Priest and Advocate.
Of the Return of Jesus Christ...We have a blessed hope that our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, will return personally and visibly. This return is imminent.
Of Life After Death...Both the just and the unjust will participate in a bodily resurrection. The unjust will experience everlasting conscious suffering in hell. The just, made so by their union with Jesus Christ, will experience eternal fellowship with God and all the just in heaven.
Of Satan and Hell...The devil, Satan, a created being who was one of the highest ranking angels, exists. He is still working in the world to destroy the souls of men. He and all his angels, and all who do not receive Christ as their Savior will eternally perish in the lake of fire.
Of the Church...The Church has been given the mission to preach the Gospel to all the world, multiply disciples who multiply disciples, and multiply churches that multiply.
Of the Sacraments (Ordinances) of the Church...There are only two ordinances of the Church. These were given to us by our Lord. They are Baptism and the Lord’s Supper (Communion).
