About Inner-Communion Church
The Church is not "non denominational" it is in the "free thought" denomination like the Unitarian Universalist Church is, however, we do not base our beliefs on religious texts, nor beliefs contained in them. We focus on our practice which we call Inner-Communion believing, as Quakers and Buddhists and some Yogis do, that the answers to spiritual questions lie within an empathetic communion within oneself, and in general, we believe a church has the obligation to serve as extended family to those who join, and as to our aims or mission it is to create caring communication and promote the health of individuals, society, and our planet. Our leaders are called "Teachers". This is their title. Their vote guides the congregations of the Church. It's founders included a physics professor, a math professor, a martial arts teacher, an artist, and the creator of the practice of inner-communion which is a form of deep experiential and expressive communication, a dialogue within one's mind, using language and non-language approaches and six different perspectives. All are welcome. The Physicist Dr. Ellis described the church as about "doing" not "believing". We carry on with the founders intentions. We are no longer located at 1200 Woodcrest ln Arlington TX. That location was left long ago. We will establish a home now in New York, and in other locations where those trained in inner-communion are willing and able.

BELIEFS
We believe in the guidance within oneself found in our practice using forms of empathy and awareness which we call the inner-communion. No one is lost or saved. We seek to heal damaged faith or trust in love, but not religious beliefs. The reality one finds is the spirituality right for them. Teachers are practitioners of this, trained by other Teachers. We believe that a church should be an extended family guided by science in the pursuit of health and the welfare of both rich and poor, the individual and society, the planet and our world. Religious beliefs are personal Truths and we do not discuss them, nor endorse any of them. Family first is the mission of our church, not useless divisions. Church leaders are called Teachers and never "reverends". All should be reverenced as the light is kindled within and damaged trust in love, which hinders it, is never anyone's choice, however, healing that should be everyone's mission. From reliving damaged faith with love, which gave us symbolic more attainable needs that could never be fulfilled, to real needs now losses to be grieved, to forgiveness of those who did us harm, to realization of when our damaged faith hurt others, to repentance, to the realization of a new more caring self, this is the path we preach.
