BELIEFS
We believe that we are given the life we share together through our Lord, Jesus Christ. He died for our sins and was raised from the dead to give us eternal life through faith. We trust that God’s word, the Bible, is the truth which defines what we believe, guides our everyday lives, and is the standard against which all other forms of knowing are measured. Church is a family gathering of those called to serve God in compassionate care of others. We believe each of us who follows Jesus is gifted by the Holy Spirit and that the church enables us to discover and use those gifts. We have been called to feed, heal, free and offer hospitality to those in need and to take the good news about Jesus Christ to every person in the world. Candia has a strong history of faith in the New England congregational tradition. We are rooted in the Protestant reformation, and hold to the common beliefs of the Christian church as expressed in the Apostles, Nicene and other ecumenical creeds. We believe in the unity of all believers and seek to work cooperatively with faithful churches of all denominations. We are governed democratically or congregationally under the sovereignty of God and the authority of the Bible.
