About Covenant Presbyterian Church
Covenant Presbyterian Church is a Presbyterian church in Springfield Missouri. We are a friendly traditional church with "messages that reach into our, hearts, our minds, our souls," begins a Facebook post from one of our newest members. "Our first visit to the church was a warm welcome 'home.' I don't recall ever visiting a church where people were so down to earth, warm and interested in really knowing us." Join us for our Sunday worship at 10:45 AM. Worship is at the heart of our life together at Covenant. Every Sunday morning, members, friends, and visitors gather in the sanctuary to hear the Bible, offer prayers, sing praise, listen to the music of choir and organ, and reflect on the sermon. Music is an important part of our worship. The service begins with an organ prelude and choral introit. The congregation sings with enthusiasm the great hymns of the church.
Before church service on Sunday, we have adult Bible Study at 9:30 and children/youth Sunday School at 9:30 as well.
Wednesdays through the school year, we have evening dinner and round table discussions. Check our website for times: http://www.covenantspringfield.org
BELIEFS
We believe the Bible is the Word of God, inspired by the Holy Spirit. The Bible is the revelation of God’s truth and is reliable and authoritative in all matters of faith and practice.
We believe in the Holy Trinity. There is one God, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
We believe that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. By God’s grace alone are we forgiven and justified.
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, who through His perfect life and sacrificial death atoned for the sins of all who trust in Him, alone, for salvation.
We believe that God is gracious and faithful to God’s people not simply as individuals but as families in successive generations according to his Covenant promises.
We believe that the Holy Spirit dwells within God’s people and gives them the strength and wisdom to trust Christ and follow Him.
We believe that all aspects of our lives are to be lived to the glory of God under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Because of this we are to be good stewards of all that God has blessed us with including our time, talents, and resources.
