Rick Gorham believed that God was calling him to start a work in Battle Creek, Michigan that would emphasize the distinctives that make for a Calvary Chapel. Few churches teach the Bible line upon line, the whole counsel of God, and there appeared to be a need for this type of ministry in Battle Creek.
