Meet The Pastor
Pastor James Jones
Pastor James Jones is an Ordained Bishop in the Church of God, an author, and the founder of The DIvergent Church. Pastor Jones and Crystal Jones grew up in Frederick Md, where they graduated from TJ High School and got started in ministry at the Maranatha Church of God. They moved away to youth pastor in Westminster Maryland for 3 years, then on to Baltimore where they were the senior pastors of the Celebration Church of God for over ten years. They returned to Frederick to help out in their home church for a few years, and to serve at 2 more local churches helping to develop youth and children ministries at each church.
In Fall of 2016 they began a prayer group seeking God about planting a new church. A church that would be formed to serve God, and to change the image that the world has of the church. We strive to be servants, examples, and a guiding light to point the way to Jesus Christ as the way, the truth, the life.
