Meet The Pastor

Rev. Dr. David C. Baker
THE REV. DAVID C. BAKER, PH.D.
The Reverend Dr. David C. Baker is an ordained minister of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America with over 40 years of experience in parish and institutional ministry. During his career, he has served congregations, long-term care institutions, and hospitals in Ontario, Texas, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. In 2016, he retired as Director of Spiritual Care and Education at Meritus Medical Center in Hagerstown. From 2003 through last spring, he served as a supply pastor to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. In November of 2018, the Bishop of the Delaware Maryland Synod appointed him to be the Interim Pastor with the task of revitalizing the congregation.
Dr. Baker holds a Ph.D. from Texas Tech University and is a Board Certified Clinical Chaplain, Pastoral Counselor, and Diplomate in Clinical Supervision. He enjoys travel, history, photography, and mushroom hunting. Since his retirement, he has visited Canada, Panama, Germany, Ecuador, Israel, and several states within the United States. He is married to Diana Baker, and they reside in Middletown, MD
