Meet The Pastor

Pastor Jack Wellman
I taught in a Southern Baptist Church for almost 20 years. I also have extensive publishing experience, and not just newsletters or desk top publishing, but writing, editing, and formatting over 950 articles on What Christians Want to Know.com and have also written 4 books, including a book on evangelism called The Great Omission: Evangelizing the Lost for the Great Commission and one called Teaching Children the Gospel and Blind Chance or Intelligent Design?: Empirical Methodologies and the Bible an apologetics book and others which you can see on my authors page. I have also revised and updated our church’s policies and procedures, including the bylaws that have not been revised since 1986. Over 320 pages were included. I am the General Manager for Telling Ministries which oversees a small staff of writers, as I edit, spell/grammar check, format, illustrate, and schedule all articles on What Christians Want to Know, Faith in the News(.com), Christian Quotes(.info), and Rhetorical Jesus(.com), and have spoken at several churches in America on how to begin a prison and nursing home ministry, and have been the Q & A man for a few radio station interviews. In this cover letter, you will read of my experience and education in both the secular field of social work and as a bi-vocational pastor I was able to write four books emphasizing outreach and evangelism and God opened the door for me to create a prison ministry and nursing home ministry which others have joined, even outside of the church. I have a BA from Newman University and an Associate’s Degree from Cowley College and completed my Master's Degree at Moody Theological Seminary and completed Master-degree-level work at Ashland Seminary. I have experience in human resources, teaching, administration, and management. I had worked as a Regional Manager for a multi-state Federal Office for Head Start for which I received extensive training of over three years and worked for three years in the public schools as an At-Risk Facilitator, three years as Reading Teacher and four years Substitute I have been involved with recruitment, screening, interviewing, and training of staff in Kansas and Missouri helping low-income and families at or below the poverty level, in association with Head Start, including work with the government’s Housing and Urban Development branch. I have also helped Migrant and Hispanic families, as well as homeless individuals to connect to community services. Part of my work included performing state and community assessments and self-assessment of our Federal Office.
