About Jasper County church of Christ
The church of Christ is not a denomination. We are the New Testament Church that was founded in Acts 2 on the Day of Pentecost. We have no creed books or confessions of faith. We find the authority for the things that we do in the written Word (2 Pet. 1:3). We believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God and that only through him is found redemption for our sins (John 14:6, 1 John 1:7).
Our desire is to take the Gospel to every person in the world, just as the disciples did in the first century. We are a group of loving individuals who love the souls of our fellow man. We care about family values, our community, and our country.
What to Expect when you visit the church of Christ
Visiting a new congregation can be an overwhelming thought for some. Do not be afraid to visit your local church of Christ. We do not have assigned seating, nor will you be excluded from any part of our worship. Our goal when we come together is to “worship in spirit and in truth” (John 4:23-24). Our worship is designed to match the examples of the New Testament church during the first century. Our preaching is strictly Bible based (2 Tim. 3:16-17; 4:2; 2 Pet. 1:3). Our singing is done by means of a cappella, due to the lack of Biblical support for the use of a mechanical instrument (Eph. 5:19; Col. 3:16). We also pray as a congregation when we come together (2 The. 3:1; Acts 2:42). As part of our worship upon the first day of the week we “lay by Him in store” as the saints did in the first century (1 Cor. 16:1-2). Another command bound to the first day of the week is the partaking of the “Lord’s supper” (Luke 22:16-20; Acts 20:7). Our goal and purpose in our worship is to please God!

• We offer a larger variety of Bible based tracts with answers to commonly asked questions. • We also offer a Bible correspondence course by mail for you to complete in the privacy of your home. • The church of Christ also offers a home Bible study where a couple of our members would set down and study the Bible with you at the time of your convince. • We also have our regular Bible studies that are open to anyone who wishes to attend.
Our desire is not to force our views and opinions on anyone, but rather to teach the world the saving Gospel of Christ in its simplicity (Mat. 28:19-20; Mark 16:15-16; Jude 3). God desire is that all men would be saved (2 Pet. 3:9), this is our desire also. If the church of Christ can assist you in any way please do not hesitate to ask.
