Meet The Pastor
David Pennington
Pastor Dave recently arrived to the Garden Isle in October of 2018 to become the new Pastor of the Maranatha Church of God in Kalaheo, HI. Pastor Dave spent 32 years the United States Navy and recently worked for the Department of the Navy as a military contractor. He and his family spent 6 years on the island of Oahu during his Navy career so he is no stranger to the islands. This is his first church as a Pastor and is excited to make a difference on the Garden Isle for God.
He finished his Ministerial Internship Program with the Church of God, Cleveland, TN in August 2002 while still serving full time in the military. From there, he served as Elder, Sunday School Superintendent, Teacher, and Youth Pastor in various churches in different states.
He got the call to serve as lead Pastor at Maranatha in Kalaheo, HI on May 2018, and after serious prayer and wise counsel, he accepted the position and began the process of moving from Northern Virginia to Hawaii.
He has a vision to revitalize the church with sound teaching, lively worship, and sweet fellowship all bathed in sincere prayer. He hopes to shine a light in Kalaheo that will reach the island and beyond.
