BELIEFS
We believe in God, the Father, Almighty Creator of Heaven and Earth and that He continues to give us all that we need to support our bodies and lives
We believe in Jesus Christ, who is true God and true man. That He was born of the Virgin Mary and has redeemed us from sins, from death, and from the power of the devil with His shed blood sacrificed on the cross for us
We believe in the Holy Spirit. As Martin Luther wrote in his Small Catechism, "I believe that I cannot by own reason or strength believe in Jesus Christ, my Lord, or come to Him. But the Holy Spirit has called me by the Gospel, enlightened me with His gifts, sanctified and kept me in the true faith."
Regarding Baptism, Martin Luther wrote, "It works forgiveness of sins, delivers from death and the devil, and gives eternal salvation to all who believe this, as the words and promises of God declare."
Regarding the Lord's Supper, Martin Luther wrote, "It is the true body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, under the bread and wine, for us Christians to east and to drink, instituted by Christ Himself." Our Lord told His disciples and tells us, "Drink of it, all of you; this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for you for the forgiveness of sins."
