Meet The Pastor
Reverend Steve Baskin
At Western Hills Baptist Church a team approach is utilized to share the Word of God with the congregation. This lay ministry is one of the Church’s most defining characteristics and provides meaningful opportunities to serve. These Church Associates are not sought after or campaigned for. Members are simply asked to be willing to accept assignments that come to them through Church leaders. These leaders seek inspiration through prayer about whom to call upon for various assignments. Church members, for the most part, are willing to accept these callings. We believe the Bible is God's life manual given to us by Him. It is God's chosen way of revealing Himself and His will to us. From this book, we are able to learn what God wants us to know about Him and His plans. We believe teaching verse by verse from the Bible is the best way to learn what the Bible says. Like Paul, the greatest missionary of all, we believe you must first preach (“teach”) the Gospel and make disciples. Secondly, you must strengthen (“confirm”) the believers in the things of Christ and encourage (“exhort”) them to become spiritual leaders. Our hope is that all people will feel loved and welcomed at our church. The Western Hills Baptist Church Family prays that people will meet God and as a result of meeting God, give their lives to Jesus Christ. Our vision is to engage families of various ages, cultures, and generations to glorify Jesus by worshiping, sharing and living for Him.
