Our Mission
Exalt the Savior, Equip the Saved, and Evangelize the Lost all by Explaining the Scriptures
At Grace & Truth Bible Church we seek to Exalt the Savior, Equip the Saved, and Evangelize the Lost all by Explaining the Scriptures – clearly, literally, from a classical dispensational viewpoint with a Grace orientation. Our doctrinal statement is provided here to help you understand what we believe the Bible teaches on some especially important subjects.

About Grace & Truth Bible Church
We are a grace-oriented, Bible-believing local body of believers in Christ whose passion is the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ (Romans 1:16) and the teaching of the Word of God verse by verse (Matthew 4:4; 2 Timothy 4:2). We are very excited about what God is doing in our midst. Jesus Christ predicted, “I will build My Church” (Matthew 16:18) – and we are glad to be part of it.

BELIEFS
We believe that “all Scripture is given by inspiration (God-breathed),” by which we understand the whole Bible is inspired in the sense that “holy men of God were moved (guided or borne along) by the Holy Spirit” to write the very words of Scripture that God intended and yet fully retaining their own vocabulary and style. We believe that this divine inspiration extends equally and fully to all parts of the writings (verbal and plenary inspiration) – historical, poetical, doctrinal, and prophetical – as appeared in the original manuscripts (autographs). We believe that all the Scriptures center around the Lord Jesus Christ: His person and work in His First and Second Coming; and hence that no portion, even of the Old Testament, is properly read or understood until it leads to Him. We also believe that all the Scriptures were designed for our practical instruction and are sufficient (unmixed with human wisdom in all its various forms) to equip and bring believers to maturity. We believe that the Scriptures are the final authority for all faith and practice, and that in conjunction with the Holy Spirit and the caring body of Christ, are entirely adequate for every spiritual or emotional problem, and are in no need of any supplement from secular psycho-therapies (while fully recognizing that there may be chemical or structural problems in the brain, a consequence of the fall of humanity into sin and the resulting curse, which require medication and doctor’s care.)
We believe that God has preserved and protected His Word from all the attacks of Satan and has provided us such an enormous number of copies of the manuscripts of Scripture that we rest fully assured the Bible we preach and teach from is the very Word of the living God on parchment and paper (the inspired Word) and represents fully the content of the original autographs. We reject as false and unnecessary any teaching that says the Bible was corrupted and needed a second inspiration or that we need to resort to the false theories of the so-called “higher critics” that tell us we cannot be certain of the teaching of the Word of God. We further believe that Scripture is the fresh and present voice of Christ (the incarnate Word of God) by which He communicates through the Holy Spirit to His people. Therefore, no current and ongoing revelatory, prophetic word is necessary in this Church age. We agree entirely with Dr. David Cooper’s golden rule of Scriptural interpretation which states: “When the plain sense of Scripture makes common sense, seek no other sense; therefore, take every word at its primary, ordinary, usual, literal meaning unless the facts of the immediate context, studied in the light of related passages and axiomatic and fundamental truths, indicate clearly otherwise.” (Psalm 12:6; Proverbs 30:5; Matthew 24:35; Mark 12:26, 36; 13:11; Luke 24:27,44; John 5:39, 17:17; Acts 1:16; 17:2-3; 18:28; 26:22-23; 28:23; Romans 15:4; 1 Corinthians 2:13; 10:11, 13:8-10; 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21; Revelation 22:18-19).
