Meet The Pastor

Pastor Gary and Flora Colboch
Pastor Dr. Gary A. Colboch
Grace is blessed to have a teaching pastor in each of our specific language ministries. These men: Dr. Gary Colboch (English), Dr. Jean Marc Desire (Kreyòl), and Rev. Samuel Herrera (Español) are well-qualified, love Jesus, and have a tremendous love for the people God has placed under their watch-care. They preach, teach, visit, disciple, and serve those members who are part of Grace Church, including those who speak a language other than English or feel more comfortable worshiping in their native tongue. We love and appreciate all of our teaching & staff pastors and thank God for the wonderful team he has blessed our church family with! Dr. Gary Colboch serves as Grace's Senior Pastor (called by our church family on February 5, 2017). As a native of South Florida, Pastor Colboch was born in Hialeah, grew up in North Miami, and then moved to Pembroke Pines where he lived through elementary and high school. He graduated from Hollywood Christian School and then attended Baptist University of America in Atlanta, GA, where he met and married his wife, Flora. They have 3 grown daughters, 2 sons-in-law, and 3 grandchildren. He later completed his Master of Arts in Ministry degree from Luther Rice College & Seminary, and later his Doctorate of Ministry. Pastor Colboch has served churches in Kennesaw, GA; West Palm Beach, FL; Hartsville, SC; and currently here in Pompano Beach, FL. His ministry has been characterized by helping struggling churches return to health and leading them to become vibrant, relevant, community-impacting churches. HIs experience with church growth, church consulting, church construction, Christian schools, fund-raising, leadership development, and disciple-making has provided many opportunities to help other churches and to network with church leaders and local pastors both locally and nationally. Our pastor believes Christians should be actively engaged in the community and has put that belief into practice serving as a Chamber of Commerce Board member; Chaplain with Motor Racing Outreach; Hospice & Hospital Chaplain; Luther Rice College & Seminary Board of Trustees; Participant in various faith-based initiatives; and more. Pastor Colboch made a profession of faith at age seven, while attending Northwest Baptist Church in Miami, FL. He struggled with assurance and later confirmed his decision at FBC of West Hollywood and was baptized that same day. Shortly after his salvation, God gave him a very clear call to ministry, and the rest is history. Pastor Colboch says he has been blessed far beyond what he could have ever imagined or deserved. One of his greatest joys is having 40+ people surrender to full-time, vocational service under his ministry, and many of those still serving the Lord faithfully today. Among his favorite Bible verses is Philippians 3:13-14 - "Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." For rest and relaxation; Pastor Colboch enjoys spending time with family, traveling (20+ countries so far), golfing, boating, beach time, working in the yard, and watching football. He is an avid Miami Dolphins fan and pulls for all the Miami, FL teams.
