BELIEFS

1. CHRIST IS THE CORNERSTONE Jesus Christ is the foundation of our Church. We do not lift up a sect or a denomination but the name of Jesus Christ alone. The Church provides a place of true worship where Christ is honored and glorified. Ephesians 2:20-21 says, “built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the cornerstone, in whom the whole structure, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord.” 2. UNITY IN DIVERSITY As a dynamic Church that shows the diversity of members, we are united in a common goal: to preach the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ to every tribe and every nation. Revelations 5:9 says, “And they sang a new song, saying, ‘Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation.’ “ 3. THE HEART FOR MISSIONS The Church has a heart for both local and global missions to preach the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ in Florida and across the globe to every tribe and every nation through missions. Matthew 28:18-20 says, “And Jesus came and said to them, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[a] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.’ “ 4. PRAYING WITHOUT CEASING The Church believes that prayer is the driving accelerator to carry out the Church mission and obey the will of God for our church, families, and loved ones. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 says, “pray without ceasing”. 5. DISCIPLESHIP IS ABOUT RELATIONSHIP Jesus tasked us to make disciples of all nations and this requires connecting and building relationships with people. The Church encourages a program of continuous witnessing, soul winning, and discipleship under the direction of the Holy Spirit. John 8:31-32 says, “So Jesus said to the Jews who had believed him, “If you abide in my word, you are truly my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” 6. TRAINING THE NEXT LEADERS The Church aims to disciple the next leaders who will respond to the task of reaching out to the nations in their generation. The Church serves as an avenue to provide discipleship and leadership training programs for possible outreaches as we obey the leadership of the Holy Spirit and His will. 2 Timothy 1-2 says, “You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men, who will be able to teach others also.” 7. FAMILY DEVOTION The family is the smallest yet most important unit of the society. The Church values families with emphasis on training kids and preparing them for the future. The Church is also a Church family that provides spiritual fellowship and encouragement to fellow believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. Deuteronomy 11:19 says, “You shall teach them to your children, talking of them when you are sitting in your house, and when you are walking by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.” 1. THE HOLY SCRIPTURES We believe that the sixty-six books of the Old Testament and New Testament are verbally inspired by God, inerrant, infallible, immutable, and it is the supreme and the only final authority of faith and practice. We believe that the Word of God, translated in different languages and dialects, shares the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. We are also aware that there are heretical translations that deviate from the original manuscript and should be challenged and not be used by the Church. 2 Timothy 3:16, 1 Peter 1:23, 2 Peter 1:19-21 2. THE PERSON OF GOD We believe God is supreme in His person, eternal in His being, absolute in His attributes, glorious in His perfection. We believe in the Trinity. This is to say that in the unity of Godhead there are three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each distinct person is equal in every divine perfection and each executes distinct but harmonious offices in the great work of redemption. Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19, John 14:16, 2 Corinthians 14:14 3. THE PERSON OF JESUS CHRIST We believe in the virgin birth of Jesus Christ, His deity and sinless life, His vicarious death, His bodily resurrection and ascension, and His personal pre-tribulation, premillennial return for His church. John 1:1-14, Matthew 28:18, 1 Corinthians 15:4, Acts 2:24, 1 Timothy 4:14-18 4. THE PERSON OF THE HOLY SPIRIT We believe that the Holy Spirit is the executive of the Godhead. We believe that he executes the plan of God for our conviction and salvation. All believers are indwelt by the Holy Spirit and empowered for service by Him. We believe that the gifts of the Holy Spirit are still manifesting today and must only be practiced by those who receive those gifts. John 14:26, Ephesians 4:30, Acts 5:3-4, Galatians 4:6, Ephesians 5:18, John 16:12-15, Romans 8:14 5. CREATION We believe in God’s direct creation of the universe without the use of pre-existent material and apart from any process of evolution whatsoever, as according to the Genesis account. Genesis 1:1-31, Exodus 20:11, Colossians 1:16-17, Hebrews 11:3 6. THE FALL OF MAN We believe that man was created in the image of God and by choice fell into sin and death. Hence, every person is sinful and under the condemnation of eternal judgement. Genesis 3, Romans 5:12, 2:9-20, 3:22-23, 6;23 However, we believe that the blessings of salvation are made free by the Gospel, that nothing prevents the salvation of the greatest sinner but his own inherent depravity and voluntary rejection of the Gospel. Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 10:13, John 1:12 7. SALVATION THROUGH GRACE We believe that the salvation of sinners is wholly of grace, and that faith in Jesus Christ is the only way to salvation. Doing works or joining a religious affiliation will not save man. Acts 4:12, Romans 4:1-5, John 3:16, John 14:6, Ephesians 2:8-9 8. THE SECURITY OF BELIEVERS We believe that those who receive Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior are eternally secure. Our security rests on the finished work of Jesus Christ: as a result, we have assurance in our salvation. John 10:28-30, Romans 8:38-39, 1 Peter 1:1-3 9. THE CHURCH We believe that the visible church is a congregation of baptized believers, practicing New Testament principles, believing its doctrines, observing its ordinances and exercising its autonomy. Ephesians 1:22-23, 1 Corinthians 5:4-5, 6:1-5; Matthew 8:15-17, Ephesians 4:1-16 10. THE GREAT COMMISSION We believe that every Christian has a task to fulfill the Great Commission to preach the Gospel and make disciples of all nations. Matthew 28:18-20 11. WATER BAPTISM We believe that baptism by immersion should be administered to believers only as a symbol of their belief in the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; and as a testimony to the world of their personal faith in their identification with the work of Christ for salvation. Matthew 28:19, John 4:1-3, Acts 2:38, Acts 8:35-28 12. THE LORD’S SUPPER We believe that the Lord’s Supper should be partaken of by believers only to show forth the death of Jesus Chrrist till He returns to earth. Romans 6:1-8, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26 13. HEAVEN AND HELL We believe in the eternal blessedness of the saved in heaven and the eternal punishment of the lost in hell and the lake of fire. Philippians 1:23, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, Luke 16:19-26, Revelation 20:13-15 14. THE SECOND COMING We believe that Jesus Christ is risen, seated at the right hand of the Father making intercession for the saints and is coming again. The second coming will take place in two phases: 1) Rapture of the Church, which could occur any time, where the saints are caught up to meet Christ in the clouds. Then, following the seven year Tribulation Period, the (2) Revelation of Christ will occur when Christ returns to the earth to judge the nations and set up His Millennial Kingdom. 1 Corinthians 15:52-53, 2 Thessalonians 2:1-10 15. THE ENEMY We believe that Satan is an actual person and an angelic being, who through pride, ambition and self-will, attempted to rise above the authority of God. He lost his position of purity to become the arch enemy of God and God’s people. In this age, he is the “god of this world” and the “prince of the power of air”. He is the “father of all lies”, the tempter and accuser of the saints. He will be put into the bottomless pit during the thousand year reign of Christ, released to lead rebellion at the close of that reign, and cast into the lake of fire after the thousand year reign of Christ. Job 1-2, John 10:10, Isaiah 14:12-17, Revelation 12:10 16. MARRIAGE The Church believes that marriage is only a union between man and woman. Pastors at Tribe Nation Church are not authorized to marry same-sex partners as this violates the will of God. Genesis 2:24, Mark 10:9, Ephesians 5:25-33 17. TITHES AND OFFERING We believe that tithes and offering are still practiced today. However, giving to the Church is not enforced but encouraged in order to keep the supplies and needs of the Church being met. Christians are to give with a cheerful heart.
