On Sundays, you can expect a friendly welcome, a dynamic service, and thoughtful teaching. We gather collectively as a church to worship Jesus and for discipleship by hearing about Jesus from the Bible, worshiping Jesus through song and giving, and serving one another through community fellowship and prayer.
A BIT MORE SUNDAY INFO:
Both of our morning worship services last about an hour and feature the same scripture and sermon message. We value having children of all ages participate with us in worship, even when they are wiggly and make silly noises. We have children's activity bags available near the door to the Childcare room (i.e., in our main worship lobby next to the Sanctuary). We also offer a sound-proof Family Room (accessed from our main lobby) if that is more comfortable for some families as they participate in worship. Childcare is offered during the morning worship services in our Childcare Room from 8:45 am til 11:45 amfor children ages 3 years and under.
COMMUNION:
We offer communion (bread and grape juice) on the first Sunday of the month. Communion is served to everyone who wishes to participate -- yes, everyone -- all ages (even children and babies), and all backgrounds -- you do not need to be a member of Heritage UMC or any church. Christ's table is open to everyone! And we offer a gluten-free bread option, too.

CHILDREN:
Our Children’s Ministry is uniquely designed for children newborn through 5th grade. We offer Sunday School, childcare during Sunday mornings and for church events (when pre-arranged), holiday festivals, Vacation Bible School in the summer, and twice-yearly Clothing Swaps. We use a Safe Sanctuaries approach to ensure the safety of our children as they participate in our ministries.
YOUTH:
Our Youth ministry serves those in grades 6 through 12 and their families. We offer Sunday School, weekly gatherings of reNEWed youth group, confirmation classes, and periodic meetings of our Youth Council, as well as special activities and mission trips in the summer.
ADULT EDUCATION:
We offer two Sunday School classes each week, plus additional short-term classes periodically throughout the year, and a women’s book study group that meets twice a month from Sept. thru May.
LIFE STAGES:
We recognize that sometimes it is encouraging to build friendships with those in similar ages and stages of life who can relate to what’s going on in your life. We offer various groups to meet this need.
FELLOWSHIP:
We offer many opportunities for all ages to explore shared interests together. Our men’s breakfast group and women’s lunch group meet monthly; we offer a golf league and hobby clubs (camera, crochet, quilting), and host special events (like our annual summer picnic and car show).
CONGREGATIONAL CARE:
This ministry reaches those in need within our congregational community. Support is offer through our Prayer Chain, meal ministry, caring gift bags and cards, and personal visits.
MISSION & OUTREACH:
God invites us to reach out to those in need within our community and the greater world. This team has ongoing activities with several local and regional outreach groups, and sponsors mission trips in various places.
EQUIPPING:
In the book of Ephesians 4:12, we are invited to “equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.” This ministry has two important missions: to provide hospitality to our newcomers and regular worshipers, and to mentor and recruit lay leadership for our many ministries.
WORSHIP & MUSICAL ARTS:
Praising God in sermon, songs, and scripture through worship is the focus of this team. Our many musical groups (vocal choir, handbells, praise band, instrumentalists, etc.) share their talents, and additional people support other worship aspects such as our sound booth, communion, liturgy readers, etc.
ADMINISTRATIVE:
These ministries help set the vision for our church, and carry out the many practical aspects of managing the church business. Our Church Council is the governing leadership body of the church, and our Common Table is a bi-monthly gathering of all interested people (staff, newcomers, members, visitors -- everybody!) to discuss our church and its ministries. Also included in this category of ministries are our Staff Parish Relations Committee, Finance team, Board of Trustees, Memorials team, and the Church Office.
