Hi, my name’s Greg Crocker, the senior pastor here at Crosspointe. I want to take just a moment to orient you on who we are, what we’re about, and possibly help your transition of becoming more connected to this place. Our mission is to connect people to Jesus and each other. As a Christian church that serves Sanger, California, and the larger area of Fresno County, our desire is to be a spiritual home where you and your family can grow in your faith. We want to offer you practical teaching from Scripture that will impact your life today. And we want to connect you with other believers who can come alongside you as true friends and a church family. Jesus said: “Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing” (John 15:4-5). Our prayer is that Crosspointe can be a connection to the vine for believers so that you can “bear much fruit.” What you’re going to hear from us often, is the concept of stepping into groups or teams. Small Groups are environments where you discuss the Scriptures, you do life together, pray for each other, serve together, learn together, grow together, care together and more. This brings us to Serve Teams. What we’ve recognized over the years is that there are gifted people in our body, yourself included, who have a place that God has for you in ministry somewhere. What you’ll find, is where you’re involved, and what you do there, is far less important than who you get to do it with. When people get involved in groups or get involved in teams, there’s a sense of connection that happens. Church moves from a place you attend, to a place you call home, a place where you’re known, and a place where people know you – to the degree they can pray for you, care for you, and encourage you in your faith. As you move from guest to Crosspointe family, we encourage you to intentionally follow Christ becoming more like Him, find a small group, and/or a place to serve, and do life with those around you. We hope the journey for you is one that draws you closer to Christ, but also along those lines, helps you recognize that you’re not in this thing alone, that we’re in this together, that from the very beginning God designed the Church to be a group of people gathered together, to bring glory and honor to Him. So welcome to Crosspointe, I look forward to meeting you, and in the process of you getting connected I hope as you look back, from the moment you kind of sample the soil here at Crosspointe, I hope you look back and say, God you used that place to shape me to be more like Christ.
