Our Mission

Vision “And I, if I be lifted up from the earth I will draw all men unto me.” –John 12:32– We at Full Gospel Worship Center have a vision for a one accord, New Testament church, where Christ is the head. Where we strive to observe and do all His commandments and walk in His ways. A church where we will pray without ceasing, and study to show ourselves approved unto God; where we will bridle our tongues that we deceive not our own hearts; where we endure temptation that we might receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to them that love Him. Where we are doers of the Word and not hearers only; where we obey God, not men. Where we train up a child in the way that he should go so that when he is old he will not depart from it; where we let our light so shine before men that they may see our good works and glorify our Father which is in Heaven. We have a vision of a church where all will be loved and accepted with no regard to race, color, or denomination. Where we look not on the outward appearance, but on the heart; where we reach out to all people with the same love and compassion Christ has extended to us. We have a vision where a multitude will be drawn to the love of Jesus and will come to know Him as we know Him; where the hungry will be fed, where the thirsty can drink living water, where a stranger will be taken in, where the naked will be clothed, where the sick and imprisoned will be healed and set free. A church where we believe the Word of God, and exercise the authority given to us as believers; where the lame walk, the blind see, the deaf hear, the dumb speak, and the lost find Jesus. We, at Full Gospel Worship Center have a vision, a vision for a church that can do all things through Christ; where all that believe are together and have all things common. A church which has the Spirit Baptism and the full endowment of power from on high to do the works of Christ; a church where God will receive all the glory for all that is accomplished. “With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.” –Mark 10:27–

BELIEFS

What We Believe The church accepts the Scriptures as the revealed will of God, and adopts these Statements of Fundamental Truths and Doctrine. 1. The Bible is the inspired Word of God and the revealed will of God. II Peter 1:2-21 Men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God. II Timothy 3:16-17 The Scripture is “God-breathed.” Romans 15:4 The Scriptures are “written for our instruction.” Romans 12:2 Renewing our minds with God’s Word enables us to experience God’s perfect will. 2. One God manifested in three personalities – The Father, Son, and The Holy Ghost A. Three persons, yet one God: Deuteronomy 6:4 The Hebrew word translated “one” here denotes a compound unity, rather than a simple unity. There is a multiplicity of person in the “One God”: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost. Genesis 2:24 As a man and woman become “one flesh” in marriage, so God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost are “One God.” Genesis 11:6 Again we see many being one. So it is with God. The Three are one God. B. The plurality of God is indicated in: Genesis 1:26-27 “Let US make man in our image.” “So God created man in His own image.” Genesis 3:22 “…man is become like on of US.” Genesis 11:7 “Come, let US go down and there confuse their language…” C. Three persons of God are mentioned in: I Peter 1:2 “…according to the foreknowledge of God the Father through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Christ.” I Peter 3:18 “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit.” II Corinthians 13:14 “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.” 3. The reality of Satan, Evil Spirits, and Hell A. Satan’s existence is proven by the scriptures. Ezekiel 28:11-19 Describes who Satan was before his fall Isaiah 14:12-20 Describes his sin and his fall from heaven Luke 10:18 Jesus saw his fall Matthew 4:1-11 We see his existence in the temptation of Christ John 8:42-44 Satan is a murdered and a liar John 10:10 He is a thief who comes to steal, to kill, and to destroy B. Control of Unbelievers II Corinthians 4:3-4 Satan is described as the god of this world who blinds the minds of the unbelieving. John 14:30 He is the ruler of this world Ephesians 2:2-3 He controls unbelievers C. Hell is a real place. Matthew 5:29-30 Speaks of being cast into hell Matthew 25:41-46 “everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.” Mark 9:47 “cast into hell…and the fire is not quenched.” Luke 12:5 Being cast into hell follows death D. The devil/demons can torment believers if they allow it. Ephesians 6:16 The shield of faith will quench all the fiery darts of the devil. Now shield of faith means the darts will hit their mark and cause some affliction. James 4:7 Resist the devil and he’ll flee from you. But if you don’t resist, he won’t flee. II Corinthians 2:11 If we’re ignorant of the devil’s schemes, he’ll have an advantage over us and some degree of affliction will take place. Matthew 16:18-19 Gates of hell will not prevail over us IF we use the keys of binding and loosing. But if we don’t use those keys, if we permit and don’t use our authority to forbid, the gates (government) of hell will prevail. Luke 10:19 “Behold I give you power (authority) over all powers of the devil.” 4. The person and work of Jesus Christ A. His Deity – He was and is God John 1:1-4,14 “the Word was God” John 10:30 “I and the Father are one.” Colossians 1:13-20 Jesus is the image of the invisible God Colossians 2:9 “…in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form” II Corinthians 5:19 “…God was in Christ.” B. He was born of a virgin Isaiah 7:14 His virgin birth prophesied Matthew 1:23-25 Fulfillment of virgin birth C. He lived a sinless life II Corinthians 5:21 “…Him who knew no sin.” .Hebrews 4:15 “…yet without sin.” D. He performed miracles, which are recorded in the Gospels. Matthew 8 Leper cleansed, centurion’s servant healed, Peter’s mother-in-law healed, and many others were healed, delivered, storm calmed, two demoniacs delivered E. His substitution and atoning death was for all mankind Matthew 27 Crucifixion Mark 15 Crucifixion Luke 23 Crucifixion John 19 Crucifixion Mark 10:45 Jesus came to give His life as ransom for many Isaiah 53:5 Wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities I Peter 2:24 He bore our sins in His body on the cross Galatians 1:4 Gave Himself for our sins Galatians 2:20 Delivered Himself up for us Colossians 1:20 Made peace through the blood of His cross F. He was bodily resurrected Matthew 28 Resurrection Mark 16 Resurrection Luke 24 Resurrection John 20, 21 Resurrection Luke 24:39-43 He is not just a spirit, but flesh also Acts 2:24 God raised Him up I Corinthians 15 Meaning of His resurrection discussed G. He ascended to the right hand of the Father Mark 16:19 Received up into heaven, sat down at right hand of God Acts 1:9-11 Speaks of His ascension Acts 7:55 Stephen sees Him standing at the right hand of God H. His return His personal return will be with power and glory as the Lord of Lords and King of Kings. I Thessalonians 4:13-17 At the “rapture,” believers will meet Him in the air Acts 1:11 Prophesied by angel Matthew 16:27 Coming glory of His Father Luke 9:26 Coming in His own glory and the glory of the Father and of the Holy Angels Matthew 24:30 “The Son of Man coming in clouds of Heaven with power and great glory.” 5. Man and his relationship to God A. The Fall of Man God placed His man in a perfect environment and gave him dominion over all, but man committed high treason and fell into sin. His lost estate makes necessary a rebirth through confession and belief in the Lord Jesus Christ. Genesis We see the fall of man transpire Romans 5:12-15 Spiritual death passed upon all men through Adam. All have sinned. Romans 3:23 There is non-righteous in himself-all have fallen short of the glory of God. John 3:5-7 You must be born again. If you are not born again, you cannot see the kingdom of God. (That which is born of the Spirit is our spirit. The new birth is like the wind in the sense that you cannot see it and may not fully understand it – but it is real non-the-less). Acts 4:12 No other name by which to be saved 6. Baptism in Water Commanded to all believers AFTER being born again, which is an outward sign of an inward experience that has taken place, this being essential for obedience and good conscience toward God. Matthew 28:19 Commanded – not optional, “teach…baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.” Romans 6:1-7 Water baptism symbolizes that we are crucified with Christ and buried with Him in death and that we are risen with Him in newness of Life, and should walk thus. I Peter 3:21 Essential for obedience and good conscience Acts 16:30-34 Babies are not sinners (Romans 1), therefore cannot repent-thus, infant baptism is not valid. They need to understand what they are doing. Acts 8:38 By immersion in water. Baptism means to dip, to immerge or to submerge. Acts 2:38 These people were baptized in Jesus’ name. 7. Baptism in the Holy Spirit There is a dual working of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer. He comes to indwell us at the time of the new birth. He comes upon us when we are baptized or “filled” in the Holy Spirit. A. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit is for the believer’s personal benefit. John 14:16-17 He comes to abide in us. John 4:14 Water is a type of the Holy Spirit. The well refers to the Spirit within. Within us is a well that springs up to benefit us continually. Galatians 5:22-23 It is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit that brings the Fruits of the Spirit to maturity in our recreated human spirits. B. The Reconciliation of Man We are reconciled to God through the substitutionary death and shed blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. II Corinthians 5:18-21 Reconciled through the death of Jesus Colossians 1:19-22 Reconciled and made peace through the blood of the cross. Ephesians 2: 5-18 Reconciliation: peace with God. Romans 10:9-10 Salvation comes through belief and confession of Jesus Christ II Corinthians 5:17 At that moment, we are made new creatures in Christ. Ephesians 2:8 Saved by grace through faith and not by works that we can boast. C. The Resurrection of: 1. Believers – To an everlasting life and blessing in Heaven I Corinthians 15:51-57 Immortality and victory over death. (Mortal put on immortality) I Thessalonians. 4:15-17 Dead in Christ shall rise first. II Corinthians 5:1-3 Our home with the Lord. 2. Unbelievers -To an everlasting punishment in the torments of hell. Revelation 20:12-15 Everyone whose name is not found written in the Lamb’s Book of Life, is judged according to their works and thrown into the lake of fire. Matthew 8:13 The disobedient are cast into darkness and fire where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth. Further reading: Matthew 22:13 & Matthew 24:51 8. The Holy Spirit’s Ministry A. God’s divine executive agent in the world today is the Holy Spirit. He is continuing the work that Jesus began and is at work all over the earth. He is constantly moving and working in response to the pleas of God’s children everywhere. He is at work in the lives of God’s people ever bringing them into the image of Christ. John 16:12-14 He is the Spirit of Truth and always glorifies Jesus. I Corinthians 12:13 He baptizes us into the body. I Corinthians 6:19-20 He comes to indwell us at the time of the new birth & (John 14:16-17) John 14:15,18 He is the Divine Paraclete of the church. He is “the one called along side to help.” John 14:26 He is the teacher of the church. Acts 1:8 He is the One Who empowers us for service. I Corinthians 12:8-11 He is Bestower of Spiritual Gifts. B. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is for the benefit of others. Acts 1:8 After the Holy Ghost comes upon us, we are endued with power from on high. This power enables us to be witnesses of Christ. John 7:37-39 A well is for personal use. Rivers benefit many. C. After being born again, it is God’s will for every believer to be baptized in the Holy Spirit. Luke 24:49 Commanded to wait for power form on high. Ephesians 5:18 Commanded…Be filled with the Spirit. Acts 19:1-6 The pattern of the early church was to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit after believing upon the Lord Jesus Christ and being saved. D. Tongues are the evidence that the believer has been filled with the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:4 They were all filled and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave the utterance. I Corinthians 14:12-15 Tongues is a supernatural means of communication with the Father God. E. Receiving the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Luke 11:13 Realize that God will give the Holy Spirit to them that ask, and you do not have to fear receiving a wrong spirit when you ask. John 7:37,39 Come and drink. Expect God to fill you. Acts 19:1-6 It is scriptural to expect to receive the Holy Spirit when hands are laid upon you. Tarry? He wasn’t sent yet. He’s here now so you don’t have to tarry! 9. A Sanctified Life of Holiness Before God We believe that as the people of God we should be set apart for God, avoiding all appearance of evil, and devoted to Him in all godliness and holiness is to be practiced by every believer. II Corinthians 6:14-18 Separation from unbelievers, and unclean things. If you run with them you will suffer the consequences. II Corinthians 7:1 “Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” I Peter 1:15-16 “But as He which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of behavior; because it is written, Be holy; for I am holy.” Romans 12:1 “I beseech you therefore brethren by the mercies of God. that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world, but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Romans 6:12-14,19 “We are to yield ourselves as instruments of righteousness unto God.” II Timothy 2:21 If we will purge ourselves we will be vessels of honor, sanctified (set apart) for the Master’s use. John 17:17 We are sanctified through the truths of God’s Word. Ephesians 25, 26 says that Jesus sanctifies and cleanses His church and makes it glorious by the washing of water by the Word. 10. Constant Spiritual Growth Growth and maturity for the attaining of: Ephesians 4:13 “Till we all come in the unity of the flesh, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect (mature) man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.” Verse 14 goes on to say, “That we henceforth be no more tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine.” I Peter 2:2 It is the Word that helps you grow. 11. The Laying on of Hands Is practiced for the impartation of spiritual and physical blessings. A. Hebrews 6:2 It is one of the foundation doctrines B. There is no magical touch involved in the Biblical doctrine of the laying on of hands. Understanding the principle behind the laying on of hands is a simple as understanding the principle of delegated authority. C. We see the ministry of the laying on of hands in a number of places throughout the Scriptures: Genesis 48:12-15 Jacob blesses Joseph. (God’s blessing upon Jacob was passed on to Joseph). Mark 10:13-16 Jesus blesses the children. Numbers 8:9-11 For commissioning for service. We see this also in several other scriptures such as: Numbers 27:23 (Moses-Joshua); Acts 13:3 (Paul and Barnabas being sent to Jerusalem); Acts 6:6 (Apostles-Deacons). Acts 8:17 For receiving the Holy Spirit. (Also see Acts 19:6 and Acts 9:12) Mark 16:17,18 For healing. (Also see Luke 4:40; Luke 13:13; Mark 5:23, 41; Mark 6:5; Acts 28:8.) D. I Timothy 5:22 tells us not to be hasty in laying hands on anyone. We could become partakers in another man’s sins. 12. Communion The Communion table is to remind us of Jesus; provisions at the cross. It symbolizes a two-fold redemption of man -I Corinthians 11:23-32. A. The bread symbolizes physical redemption. Isaiah 53:5 “… by His stripes we are healed.” Body = Bread. (Also see I Peter 2:24.) B. The wine symbolizes spiritual redemption. Hebrews 9:22 “…without shedding of blood is no remission.” Ephesians 1:7 “In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins.” C. We must partake with knowledge-otherwise the communion table is powerless and fruitless. As a religious ordinance only, the communion table has no power in itself. Knowledge and Faith makes it powerful. I Corinthians 11:27-31 Otherwise we partake unworthily. D. Not discerning the Lord’s body causes sickness and death. (Or premature death.) E. Must examine yourself to be free from sin. Examine myself to see if I’m in faith. I Corinthians 11:28 13. Giving of Tithes and Offerings This is God’s will for the New Covenant believer. Malachi 3:8-12 Those who don’t are under a curse. Those who don’t are robbing God. Those who do get tremendous blessings. Those who do get the devourer rebuked. II Corinthians 9:6-12 The New Testament principle of giving. Hebrews 7 Jesus (Melchizedek was the Old Testament type of Jesus) receives tithes from us today. (Verse 8) There—God receives them. 14. Faith Faith is a major doctrine of the Bible. Faith believes with the heart and confesses with the mouth, and believes that it receives at the time it prays. Hebrews 11:6 Without faith you cannot please God. Romans 10:8-10 The principle of faith. Mark 11:22-24 Believe you have it, it shall be yours. Faith is a mighty force. On the other hand, we also come against all forms of foolishness and presumptions, which at times look, and act like faith, but are only counterfeits of faith. Faith is built upon a heart established on God. 15. Healing and Health Healing and health are provided for in the atonement of Jesus. It is God’s Will that EVERYONE be healed and walk in divine health: spirit, soul, and body. We can see in Genesis 1:26-31 that sickness was not a part of God’s plan in creation. And we know that it will not be His Will when we get to heaven. So, it is not His Will now. Sickness came through the curse and we are redeemed from the curse, (Galatians 3:13,14) “He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Isaiah 53:4, 5 By His stripes we are healed. Matthew 8:17 Healing fulfills Isaiah’s prophesy. I Peter 2:24 Healing is an accomplished fact. Acts 10:38/Luke 13 God’s Will. The cross to bear is where His Will and your will cross.
