Our Mission

To know Him and to make Him known
Welcome to Palmer Christian Fellowship. We started out meeting in believers' homes in the Palmer area around 2004. Since then, we have grown into a small building were we currently meet. In style, we are an elder led and family integrated church. We believe in the absolute authority of the Scriptures and obedience to them even when it is culturally opposed. We also believe the regular meeting of the body (the church) was intended for those born again and not unbelievers (although we heartily welcome unbelieving visitors). As a church, we are doctrinally conservative, but are careful not to draw lines simply for distinction's sake. Our desire is to both know the risen Savior and to make Him known. We would love to have you visit. Please reach out for more meeting information.

BELIEFS

PALMER CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP DOCTRINAL STATEMENT THE SCRIPTURES We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are verbally inspired by God, inerrant in the original writings, and of supreme and final authority in all aspects of the Christian life and testimony. (II Tim. 3:16,17; II Peter 1:20, 21) THE GODHEAD We believe in one Holy, Almighty, God, eternally existing in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that these three are one God, having precisely the same nature, attributes, and perfections, and worthy of precisely the same homage, confidence, and obedience. (Matt. 28:18–19; Mark 12:29; John 1:14; Acts 5:3–4; 2 Cor. 13:14; Heb. 1:1–3; Rev. 1:4–6). FALLEN ANGELS We believe that Satan is a created personal being, the enemy of God; the author of sin and rebellion; the deceiver, corrupter and destroyer of men; who is justly condemned to be cast into the lake of fire forever. (Isa . 14:12-17; Eph. 6:10-16; I Pet. 5:8; John 8:44; II Cor . 11:13,14; Matt.25: 41; Rev. 20:1-10) MAN, CREATED AND FALLEN We believe that man was created in the image of God; that he sinned and, thereby, incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death, which is separation from God; that all human beings are born with a sinful nature, and are guilty, thus incurring God's penalty, which is eternal damnation (Gen. 1:26,27, 2:17 ; Rom. 5:12,19, 6:23 , 3:19 ; Eph. 2:1-3; John 3:36) THE FIRST ADVENT We believe in the Virgin Birth, in the complete deity and complete humanity of Jesus Christ uniquely joined together in one person and in the bodily resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ and in His present life in Heaven, for us as High Priest and Advocate to the Father (John 1:1; Philippians 2:6; Matthew 1:23-25; 1 John 3:5). THE HOLY SPIRIT We believe in the deity and personality of the Holy Spirit as a Person in the Godhead. The Holy Spirit regenerates, indwells, seals and baptizes the believer into the body of Christ at conversion. The fruit of the Spirit is evidence of His presence.
SALVATION ONLY THROUGH CHRIST We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for the sins of lost mankind and that mankind can only receive spiritual life as a gift of God's grace, through faith in Jesus Christ. His shed blood is the basis for our forgiveness and freedom from sin's penalty, making possible our spiritual birth into the family of God by the Holy Spirit, who gives us God's life in our spirits. We believe that all who receive salvation by Grace through repentant faith into the Lord Jesus Christ, are born again of the Holy Spirit, thereby, becoming children of God. (John 3:16,36; Eph. 2:5-9; Rom. 3:21 -26; John 1:12,13, 10:28 ; Rom. 8:15 ,16; Titus 3:5). We believe that all that are born of the Holy Spirit are united with the Lord Jesus Christ in His death, burial and resurrection. This relationship makes available to each believer's soul the power necessary to live abundantly and victoriously over the power of sin, our sin nature, the world and Satan. (Rom. 6:1-14, 8:11-13; Col. 2:9-13; Eph. 1:17-21, 6:10-18; I Cor . 10:13, 12:13; I John 2:15-17, 5:3-5) SECURITY OF THE BELIEVER We believe that the Holy Spirit is the agent of God's salvation who brings conviction to men and illuminates to them, the understanding of the Gospel. He regenerates those who believe in Christ, imparting to them a new divine nature, making them sons and daughters in the family of God. Simultaneous to this new birth, the Holy Spirit permanently indwells every believer, sealing him them until the day of their final redemption. He also baptizes every believer into the Body of Christ, equipping them with spiritual gifts for mutual edification. The abiding presence of the indwelling Holy Spirit is the basis for His continuing work in the believer's life, as He desires to control, guide, and teach the believer, producing the fruit of the Spirit and good works. (John 16:8-13; Titus 3:5-8; John 3:5-6,16; II Cor . 5:17; II Pet. 1:14; Rom. 8:9,14,17; I Cor . 6:19; Eph. 4:30; I Cor . 12:12-13; Eph. 1:3; John 14:16,17; Eph. 5:18; Gal. 5:16,22-23) THE ORDINANCES We believe that water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are the only ordinances of the church. They are a scriptural means of testimony for the church in this age. (Matt. 28:19; Luke 22:19–20; Acts 10:47–48; 16:32–33; 18:7–8; 1 Cor. 11:26). THE CHURCH We believe that the Universal Church consists of all believers; all who are united to the risen and ascended Son of God and that are members of the Church, which is the Body and Bride of Christ. Christ is the Head of the Church. A local church is made up of fellowshipping believers in a particular location. THE CHRISIAN WALK We believe that we are called with a holy calling, to walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit, and so to live in the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit, that we will not fulfill the lust of the flesh. The flesh with its fallen Adamic nature, needs to be kept in check by the Holy Spirit; constantly abiding in subjection to Christ, otherwise the flesh will surely manifest its presence in our lives to the dishonor of our Lord and Savior. (Rom. 6:11–13; 8:2, 4, 12–13; Gal. 5:16–23; Eph. 4:22–24; Col. 2:1–10; 1 Pet. 1:14–16; 1 John 1:4–7; 3:5–9). THE CHRISTIAN’S SERVICE We believe that divine, enabling gifts for His service are bestowed by the Holy Spirit upon all who are saved. We believe also that today, some men are especially called of God to be evangelists, pastors and teachers, and that it is to the fulfilling of His will and to His eternal glory that these shall be sustained and encouraged in their service for God (Rom. 12:6; 1 Cor. 12:4–11; Eph. 4:11). THE GREAT COMMISSION We believe that it is the message of our Lord Jesus Christ to those whom He has saved, that they are being sent forth by Him, into the world, even as He was sent forth of His Father into the world. We believe that, after unbelievers are saved, they are divinely reckoned to be related to this world primarily as strangers, pilgrims, ambassadors, i.e. witnesses; that their primary purpose in life should be to make Christ known to this present world at large (Matt. 28:18–19; Mark 16:15; John 17:18; Acts 1:8; 2 Cor. 5:18–20; 1 Pet. 1:17; 2:11). THE ETERNAL STATE We believe that at death the spirits and souls of those who have trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, pass immediately into His presence in heaven and there remain in conscious bliss until the resurrection of the glorified body when Christ comes for His own, whereupon soul and body reunited shall be associated with Him forever in glory; but the spirits and souls of the unbelieving remain after death, conscious of condemnation and in misery until the final judgment of the great white throne at the close of the millennium, when soul and body reunited, shall be cast into the lake of fire, not to be annihilated, but to be punished with everlasting destruction, removed from the presence of the Lord. (Luke 16:19–26; 23:42; 2 Cor. 5:8; Phil. 1:23; 2 Thess. 1:7–9; Jude 6–7; Rev. 20:11–15). THE BLESSED HOPE We believe that, according to the Word of God, the next great event in the fulfillment of prophecy will be the imminent return of the Lord in the air to receive to Himself, into heaven, both those believers who have fallen asleep in Jesus and those believers who are alive and remain unto His coming. This event – the Rapture, is the blessed hope set before us in the Scripture; for this event, we should be constantly looking (John 14:1–3; 1 Cor. 15:51–52; Phil. 3:20; 1 Thess. 4:13–18; Titus 2:11–14).
