BELIEFS
We are sinners. we are sinners who have been shown grace. We are sinners who seek, through the Spirit, to live lives of gratitude, because of what the Lord has done for us through the perfect life, willing death, burial, resurrection, and ascension of His only Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. We are sinners who seek to glorify God in our worship, by presenting the Son to his people to be praised and adored, through the singing of songs, the reading of the Word, and the partaking of His sacraments (baptism and the Lord's Supper). As sinners, we seek to demonstrate our gratitude by loving our God with our hearts and minds, and loving His church, our neighbors, and even our enemies, with the love that He has given us. We know that in this life we may only make small progress, and stumble often, but this is who we are and who we seek to be, to the glory of God alone.
We are an independent congregation, who gratefully acknowledge the work the Lord has done in the history of His church, and maintain our connection to it by holding to historic confessions and creeds in continuity with the protestant reformers, who many times gave up their lives defending the gospel of Christ against His enemies. We hold the Word above all else, and accept the Three Forms of Unity (Belgic confession, Heidelberg catechism, and the Canons of Dordt) as helpful documents that faithfully summarize and defend the scriptures, and as such are useful tools to help us grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
