BELIEFS
GOD
There is only one God who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He created us and all things. We are to worship Him in Spirit and Truth. (Ephesians 4:5-6 and John 4:24)
BIBLE
God's Word is inspired, God-breathed, and is trustworthy for life decisions and practices. It lights our path. It guards, penetrates, and purifies the heart so that we grow to look more like Jesus. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
JESUS
Jesus has always existed with God and the Holy Spirit. Being fully God, He let go of heaven in order to become the sacrifice to pay our sin penalty. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died on a cross for our sins, and was resurrected from the grave on the third day. He ascended to heaven to prepare a place for us when he comes again. (2 Corinthians 5:21)
HOLY SPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is a gift of Jesus who convicts us of sin and convinces us of truth. He guides us into all truth and empowers us to resist sin and live victorious lives. (John 16:13)
SALVATION
We must have faith. We trust that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the God. Faith is related to a changed perspective. We view life from God's point of view. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
We must repent. Repentance is related to a changed practice. Since we view all things from God's point of view, we see what is wrong in our lives. We "turn from evil and do good." We "seek peace and pursue it" daily. (Acts 2:38)
We must be baptized. Baptism in the New Testament is always by immersion in water. It was commanded by Jesus and the apostles and practiced by them. It is valueless if not preceded by faith and repentance. Baptism is related to a changed position. Through baptism we unite with Jesus in his death and in his resurrection. (Romans 6:3-4)
