To execute the commission of Jesus Christ to go into the city to teach and demonstrating the gospel of the Kingdom of God.
ABOUT CHANGE SOCIETY
Change Society is not just another church, but a culture that is design to take the good news of the Kingdom beyond the four walls of the church and into the communities of Washington, D.C. and Maryland. Change Society exist to fulfill the command to Go!: make disciples, train leaders and impact communities for the Kingdom of God. Growing up in the Apostolic Faith, Lead Pastor Chris Perkins knew there was much more to the Christian faith than just reading the bible, hearing a sermon and attending church. In 2009 he received his calling to teach but didn’t want to teach the normal church messages. Making a statement like, “I want to teach what Jesus taught”, but didn’t have no idea what He taught. That’s when he discovered the teachings of the Late Dr. Myles Munroe. After 6 years of learning the Kingdom of God, the passion to launch Change Society was born. Change Society is not just another church or ministry, Change Society is a movement purposed to go outside of the four walls into the communities of Washington, D.C. and Maryland, to impact an unchurch society by changing minds to transforming lives. BELIEFS
What We Believe:
• HOLY BIBLE
We believe the Holy Bible is the authoritative Word of God. It is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths.
• GOD
We believe there is one eternal, sovereign God, Who revealed Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
• JESUS CHRIST
We believe Jesus Christ was the only begotten Son of the Father and was fully God and fully man.
• JESUS CHRIST INDWELLS ALL BELIEVERS
We believe that believers (Kingdom Citizens) are people who have repented, are baptized in Jesus name and are filled by His Holy Spirit.
• REPENTANCE
We Believe repentance is a changed mind which leads to a sorrowful heart and the commitment to turn away from sin in every area of life and to follow Christ.
• BAPTISM
We believe that every believer is commanded by the God’s word to be baptized by immersion.
• BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe the Holy Spirit lives within every believer in Jesus and that the Spirit is our abiding helper, teacher, and guide.
• SALVATION
We believe Salvation is a gift from God, not a result of our good works or of any human efforts.
• THE CHURCH
We believe the Church is not a building, but the representatives of Jesus Christ and His Kingdom on earth and is to carry out the Great Commission.
• KINGDOM
We believe that the Kingdom of God is simply the rule and reign of Jesus Christ as Lord and King, of which there will be no end. The Kingdom of God is the central topic of Jesus teachings and the major theme of the Bible.
• KINGDOM IN CREATION
We believe that God created mankind in His image and likeness, male and female, for relationship with Himself and to govern the earth.
• SECOND COMING
We believe Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish His Kingdom and all believers will live forever in fellowship in Kingdom of God in a new heaven and on a new earth.
