I haven't been to church in 35-40 years. I searched desperately for one long ago, but after attending Catholic, Baptist, Lutheran, Pentecostal, and others, I became disheartened and decided to stop looking. Still praying, still Christian, but winging it on my own since then. Failing at being a Christian on my own most times. My daughter found a non-denominational church called Lanier Hills Church and started attending. She asked me to go and I was reluctant at first...........well, actually I started kicking and screaming and making all sorts of excuses. But on July 14, 2019, I went with my daughter. Entering the church I immediately felt the spirit of God, love, goodness, goodwill, and my heart melted when the singers began to worship God through their heavenly voices. My tears flowed like Niagra Falls. I went there believing it was like all the other churches and I would leave empty again. I felt in my heart God telling me, "I want you back. Come back home. I've been waiting for you". The Pastor gave an outstanding, heartfelt sermon. More like a chat between friends who found joy in testifying and witnessing to each other of God's handiwork in their lives. It was about being the right kind of influencer and how we all influence others by what we say, how we say it, how we act, and so forth. Something I really needed to hear. People I really needed to be with. Welcoming words and embraces that I really needed to feel. I so highly recommend this church. It's not a mega church, it doesn't have an overly famous Pastor like we've seen all over television, and he doesn't browbeat or condemn anyone. He speaks from the heart and soul. He speaks. He doesn't yell. The people in the congregation stood up and testified from their hearts and souls. That's what we need more of these days. People who listen to their hearts and souls instead of people who use youtube and the media to collect dollars and influence others to follow down the wrong path. Thank you Pastor Randall Popham. Thank you to my sweet daughter for being patient with my kicking, screaming and hemhalling, and thank you Heavenly Father for wanting me back and giving me a place where I feel your presence once again. I invite everyone reading this review to come to this church where you're welcomed, embraced, and wanted not for your money, but for your heart, your soul, and for who God knows you to be. God bless you!
