Free Methodist Church of North America
Among the most conservative of Methodist churches, the Free Methodist Church was founded in 1860 over abolitionist issues of freedom for all people, freedom of seating (pew rental) , freedom of worship style, and opposition to secret societies. They called for a return to maintain the Bible standard of Christianity, and to preach the Gospel to the poor. Although evangelically based, it is within the holiness movement. In the US alone there are 77,000 members and 850,000 world wide in 82 nations.
