House Churches
House Churches are independent gatherings of Christians who gather in a home because the group is small or a home is the most appropriate place to gather. This was the pattern of the early first century church and many believe that Christians today should meet in houses and base the operation of their communities around multiple small home meetings. They believe that it is a more effective way of building community and facilitating outreach. House churches are self governing. Sometimes, house churches are part of an underground movement such as in China.
