Meet The Pastor
Rector Rev. Dr. Robert N. Burns, Jr.
A son of a naval officer, Robert joined the US Navy after high school and graduated in 1987 from the US Naval Academy, beginning a 31+ year career in the Navy as a Naval Aviator, and later as a Navy Chaplain where he served aboard ship and with Marines in Iraq. He retired from the Navy in 2018 and moved to Montana to plant an Anglican Church in the Flathead Valley. Robert is a graduate of Reformed Theological Seminary, (2001 MDiv.), and Covenant Theological Seminary, (2014 DMin.). He was originally ordained in the Presbyterian Church in America in 2003, and was ordained a priest in the Anglican Church in North America in 2019. In addition to pastoral care, Robert has experience working with trauma, PTSD, and suicide prevention.
Robert and his wife Melissa have one adult daughter who lives in Baltimore, Maryland. Melissa is a clinical mental health counselor and has a private practice in Kalispell, and specializes in trauma. Robert builds 18th century longrifles in his spare time. In their work as church planters, they are passionate about reaching the un-churched, and those who are disenfranchised from the Christian faith.
