Lead Pastor Pierre Lewsey
Pastor Pierre Lewsey is the Founding and Senior Pastor of Faith Embassy Church of Gaithersburg, MD. A native of the Washington DC Metropolitan area, Pastor Pierre has served the body of Christ as a Teacher, Worship Leader, Deacon, and member of the Pastoral Staff & Leadership Council at God’s Word Christian Center & Triumphant Baptist Church, where he was led to the Lord Jesus Christ in 1990. He then served as a senior elder and assistant pastor at the Refuge Living Sanctuary International Church for several years. It was out of that ministry and an amazing local church that God began to place in his heart a desire to start a similar life-giving church.
Pastors Pierre and Ayanna grew up just outside Washington DC and were college sweethearts. They got married in 1995 after a 5-year courtship. Along with their four children, Anieyah, Sophia, Zion & Caleb, Pierre, and Ayanna answered God’s call to begin a contemporary and life-giving church in October of 2012. The church was birthed from the living room of their home, with a core group of family and friends. The vision was to connect people with the unchanging Word of God in a relevant way and in a rapidly growing culture. Pastor Ayanna, aka AyannaMachelle, is a seasoned teacher, singer, and songwriter. Ayanna has performed on stages with several major gospel artists and stage plays. Ayanna Machelle has recently begun writing and recording her own music that can be heard on radio stations worldwide.
From the beginning, Faith Embassy was gifted with a huge heart to reach people through hospitality. Pastor Pierre leads with passion, transparency, enthusiasm, and creativity to reach the unchurched and equip people to serve in ministry right where they are.
Their passion from the beginning has been simple: raise up a community of people who love God and love others. Pierre & Ayanna are characterized by a life of faith and a desire to see people experience the greatest life that one could ever experience: abundant life in Christ (John 10:10).
