Our Mission
Know the Word and Grow in God
After the church we have been attending closed in 2022, many congregational members were not spiritually prepared and equipped to deal with the loss when the church closed. Their walk in God were tested. As such my wife Julie and I wanted to create a home church to help Christians grow in their knowledge and promote a vibrant relationship with God by creating a nurturing environment to learn the Word. Wellspring is a home church based in Leesburg, Virginia. We gather as a body of believers on Sundays at 10:30am to study the Word and worship God. We believe the best way to grow in our knowledge and walk with God is to be in the Word, to love, encourage and disciple others. We hold communion on the first Sunday of every month.

BELIEFS
GOD: We believe that there is one sovereign God, eternally existing in three persons – The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. He is the Creator of all things.
JESUS CHRIST: We believe that Jesus Christ is God’s only Son, and that He was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life, died as a substitute for humanity, rose from the grave and now intercedes for us in Heaven.
HOLY SPIRIT: We believe that the Holy Spirit was sent to convict the world in regard to sin, to comfort believers, and to indwell and equip them for spiritual growth and empowers followers of Jesus to serve with unique gifts and abilities to further His Kingdom purposes.
THE BIBLE: We believe that the Holy Scriptures are God’s direct words to man, Divinely inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy, and the supreme authority.
PEOPLE: All people matter to God and are loved by Him without condition. Mankind was created in God’s image to be in relationship with Him, although man has separated himself from God, due to his sinful condition. Without redemption, from sin, man’s end is spiritual and eternal death. God’s love for man is so deep that He initiated action to cover man’s sinful condition and to make a way for all people to be reconciled to Him.
SALVATION: We believe that salvation is available only by the grace of God though the blood that Jesus Christ shed on the cross. This free gift of salvation is offered to all who receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and assures them of eternal life in Heaven. This is a gift that no amount of good works or behavior can achieve apart from knowing Jesus.
ETERNITY: We believe that death seals the eternal destiny of each person. We believe that Jesus Christ will come again and when He does, He will pronounce the eternal fate of each individual – those saved by grace spending eternity in Heaven and those who chose not to accept the free gift of salvation and thus will experience eternal separation from God in Hell.
CHURCH: We believe that the mission of the Church is to go to all the world and make disciples of all nations, beginning locally and moving out from there. The principal ingredient of this mission is the same love that Jesus modeled when He spent time on earth. The Church is to prepare believers to live out their faith on a daily basis. God’s desire is to change the world one life at a time through unified groups of those committed to Himself. While we function as part of the worldwide Church, we are just one small part, partnering with others to achieve God’s mission.
