Our Mission
The purpose of this church is to bind together followers of Jesus Christ for the purpose of sharing the worship of God and in making His will dominant in the lives of men, women and children, individually and collectively; especially as that will is set forth in the life, teachings, death and living presence of Jesus Christ.

About Wolverine Congregational Church
We are a small, comfortable, reverent congregation. We believe in the saving power of Jesus Christ, God's son, who, by His sacrifice, saves those who believe in Him from everlasting death. We are a praying congregation, individually and collectively. We love music- traditional hymns with praise and worship music are mixed in our service. When you first see our church, you'll think you've taken a trip back in time as we are a little white country church in the center of our village with a tall steeple and arched stained glass windows, built in the 1890's. Be prepared to be greeted warmly when you enter our sanctuary and feel welcome to sit anywhere you like (no reserved seats here). No dress code, so come as you are, T-shirts and flip-flops welcome. Our order of worship includes hymns, prayer time, and a wonderful, thought-provoking sermon given by our Pastor, Jim Mathis, who is a real treasure and loves to preach from the Bible. We welcome you with loving friendship into our little church family, whether you're just passing through our town or planning to stay forever. Stop in any Sunday morning! We'd love to meet you!

We have weekly Bible Study on Wednesday's at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mathis. We are in the planning stages of developing a nursery and programming for small children as an encouragement to young families to become involved in our church family. We also support our area teens through sports camps, scholarships, etc. Our church is very supportive of our Cancer Care Packages, which are given to local cancer patients and to patients receiving services at the Karmanos Center in nearby Gaylord, Michigan.
BELIEFS
We believe in God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe that God has revealed Himself fully and decisively as attested in Holy Scripture.
We believe that the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired and authoritative Word of God. The Scriptures are the guide for faith and life.
We believe there is only one way to Salvation- through Jesus Christ.
We believe in the sanctity of human life based on our creation in the image of God and our election by God for service in His Kingdom. This leads us to respectfully affirm sanctity at every stage of human life.
We believe in the Biblical guidelines for human sexuality; marriage as the union of one man and one woman, fidelity and holiness in marriage and chastity outside of marriage for the sake of the kingdom.
We believe that the mission of the church is to spread the Good News of the Gospel of salvation in every word and deed. We are sent by Christ into all the world to proclaim the atoning death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and to bring every person into a life of faith, dischipleship and submission to the Lordship of Jesis Christ.
