Meet The Pastor
Brother or Pastor Sherry Elliott
Rev. Sherry Elliott is an ordained Presbyterian minister in the PCUSA. She began ministry in Galeton in January, 2019. She was called by the Shared Ministry of Galeton which is a partnership between First Presbyterian and St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran. This is her second opportunity to serve in partnership with the denominations. Previously she served in NE Philadelphia at a PCUSA church. In her thirty years of ministry she has been extensively involved in Christian Education and conflict resolution. She defines her call into ministry as one to walk with others who are seeking to know the Way and the Light of Jesus Christ. She is a certified Spiritual Director and chaplain. She served at Penn Medicine as chaplain in trauma and ICU. She received the Ralph Taylor Thomas award for outstanding interfaith worship while at the hospital. Studying the Word of God, preaching and teaching are weekly priorities in order to bring light to the Word of God on Sunday mornings. Everyone should leave the church building having experienced the presence of the Holy Spirit in their hearts and minds. The Good News is essential so each person can stand in faith through the unknown days ahead. Pastor Sherry is commited to pastoral care and being in touch with who are shut in and ill. She is known to say that she may work in the community but the truth is she works for God.
