WORSHIP AT 9 & 11 AM
Our Sunday services give you two types of worship environments both centered around the rich tradition and liturgy of the Episcopal Church. The 9:00 am service is more traditional, with vested acolytes and the full liturgy common in most Episcopal Churches. The 11:00 am service is more contemporary, yet still incorporates the solid bones of Anglican liturgy.
You can expect to be greeted by a warm, friendly community in a casual environment. We embrace diversity which is reflected in our membership. Dress is typically casual, the music is contemporary and led by a band at both services, and the preaching is broadly evangelical and centered on the Bible.
Whichever worship service you chose to attend, plan on joining us for a time of coffee and snacks between the two services!
CHILDREN’S CHURCH, NURSERY & YOUTH MINISTRY
We offer a Children's Church during the first half of the 9: am service for kids ages 3-11. We encourage children to join in the main service with the adults at our 11 am service. The 9 am children’s church program follows the same rhythms of the adult service, yet packaged for kids, using the “hearts alive” curriculum. Children sign into that program outside of our sanctuary directly before the adult service begins, and then are escorted in to join the adults for communion. We will launch a nursery program soon for children ages birth-2, but for now, plan on having the littlest ones with the grown ups for both services. Our foyer is setup as a cry room for little ones, and there is a speaker in the cry room so you don’t miss the sermon! If you have middle or high-school students, our youth group meets at 10:15 am during our coffee and fellowship time between services. Youth meet behind the chapel by the lake, under a small tent canopy.
DOWN THE DIRT ROAD
One last thing…we’re hard to find! When you enter Canterbury Retreat and Conference Center, follow the Incarnation signs to our Chapel. It’s a beautiful chapel by the lake, down a dirt road all the way at the back of the large conference center property. It will take you several minutes to get there once you enter the property, but eventually you’ll find us, and we know you’ll be glad you did!

About Church of the Incarnation
Have you ever wondered why you were put on planet earth? We believe that you were created to Know God, experience his presence in every area of your life, and share this with others through rich and meaningful relationships. Central to all of this is the person of Jesus Christ, and the truth that God’s love for you depends upon Christ’s faithfulness and goodness, not yours!
This is the gospel of grace, and we’re convinced that abundant life is found in knowing, experiencing and sharing it, and you’re invited to join us in that endeavor. You’re welcome among us no matter who you are or where you’ve been.
You did not find us by accident. Come experience a church family committed to saying “yes” to Jesus.
We’re a community increasingly centered around three things: Knowing God, experiencing His presence, and sharing it with others.

BELIEFS
As an Episcopal Church, we affirm the Anglican 39 Articles of Religion and the Catechism outlined in the Book of Common Prayer. Below, we’ve listed 9 statements of belief, written in our own words, yet consistent with the 39 Articles, the Catechism, and most importantly, the Bible.
GOD
There is one eternal God, existing in three persons (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), who are of one substance and equal in power and glory. God is the creator and sustainer of the universe and all that is in it. God is holy and just, as well as merciful and full of grace. God is all-powerful, all-knowing, and unchanging.
JESUS CHRIST
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Redeemer of humanity, and the Messiah prophesied by the Old Testament Scriptures. Jesus was born of a virgin and was both fully human and fully God. Christ’s life, death, and resurrection are the means by which Christ conquered sin and death, and through which He offers salvation to those who will believe in Him.
THE HOLY SPIRIT
This is one of three persons of the Triune Godhead. The Holy Spirit is resident in every Christian from the moment of salvation, empowering each one with gifts and fruits according to God’s purposes.
HUMANITY
Humanity was created by God, in the image of God, and for fellowship with God. Through the sin of Adam (Gen. 3), humanity was cursed and took on a fallen, sinful nature. Sin is contradictory to the nature of God and is the reason for the evil that exists in the world today. In his mercy, God sent Jesus Christ to redeem humanity from sin. Christ did this by coming to earth in human flesh and taking upon himself humanity’s sin through his death on the cross. By God’s grace, and through faith in the finished work of Christ, the individual believer is redeemed from sin and restored to fellowship with God.
THE BIBLE
The Bible is the authoritative word of God, written by human authors whose words were inspired by God. The Bible contains timeless truths applicable to all people, all cultures, and all time. The Bible is the primary authority in all matters of doctrine and practice, and it tells the story of God’s redemption of humanity from sin through the finished work of Jesus Christ.
SALVATION
Faith in Christ, based on Christ's substitutionary life, death, and resurrection, is the sole means by which human sin can be forgiven and individuals can be restored to fellowship with God.
THE CHURCH
A universal and apostolic church and is the primary tangible representation of the kingdom of God on earth. The church is called to fellowship with God, as well as to fellowship with itself through interpersonal relationships and local congregational bodies. It is the privilege and task of the church to help bring the lost into relationship with God by faithfully proclaiming God’s truth and by living lives that bear witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
TRUTH
God is the creator and source of all truth. Accordingly, there is real, knowable truth in the world that God has revealed to humanity. This truth includes spiritual truth, as well as truth about the physical world in which we live. God has revealed this truth through His Word and through the reason and discovery of humanity. Spiritual truth is preserved and passed on through tradition and reason, both in accordance with God's Word.
CULTURE
Culture is the political, religious, social, economic, philosophical, and artistic context in which every human being lives, relative to the time and geographic location of their existence. Culture largely determines the way in which people view and interpret the world in which they live. God’s Word and the gospel of Jesus Christ transcend culture, and are applicable to all people, in all cultures, and for all times. It is the responsibility of the church to engage its cultural context, and to speak God’s truth into all cultures in ways relevant to them, order to bring the lost into relationship with God.
