About Grace Chapel Zeeland

Our Sunday services start at 9 & 10:45 AM. If you are looking for true community; where people genuinely love and care for each other you have found the right place. Grace exists to help people learn how to fully Love God, Love People and Make Disciples of Jesus. We believe everyone can have a fresh start with Jesus. So no matter what is going on in your life, if you’re still skeptical about Jesus, you grew up in church and have been hurt, you grew up in church and left because it was irrelevant to you, or any other story we invite you to come check us out and let’s do life together! You don’t need to have all the answers. You don’t need to be perfect. We invite you to come join our family right where you are today. We do not expect you to come be like us; because we embrace the diverse ways God made all of us! At Grace, you won’t be met with shame, guilt, or condemnation. No matter what you’ve been through or what questions you might have, our church is a place where you’ll find the grace, mercy, and forgiveness Jesus gives to everyone. Come and be part of our family this Sunday. We are an inter-denominational church (a church with people from a wide variety of denominational backgrounds or no church background at all) and we love the diversity that brings! Below are some of the core things we believe. We try to simply live out the teachings of the Bible and not add to it. We do not want to fight or argue; instead, we choose to embrace our religious diversity because God loves us all!

BELIEFS

The Bible We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God. The Bible is God’s unfolding story of life and redemption for all mankind. It is life-giving, culturally relevant and wholly true. We value practical life application teaching of the Bible and believe it calls us to action. We make it our aim to learn, love, and live the Word. (2 Timothy 3:16) God There is one God who is the creator and ruler of the universe; eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1,26, 27, 3:22, Matthew 28:19, 1 Peter 1:2, 2 Corinthians 13:14, 1 John 5:7-8) Jesus Jesus is the Son of God. He is fully man and fully God. He is co-equal with the Father and Holy Spirit. Jesus lived a sinless life (Hebrews 4:15) and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all mankind (John 3:16). He rose from the grave three days later demonstrating His power over death, hell, and the grave (Mark 16:6). He ascended to the Father where He prays for us (Hebrews 7:25, 1 Timothy 2:5), he is preparing an eternal place for us (John 14:1-4) and he will come again for us (1 Thessalonians 4:11). Salvation We believe that all people fall short of God’s design of a sinless life in perfect communion with Him. Therefore, all people need a way to be reconciled to a perfect and sinless God. We believe this comes through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ alone. Salvation can come through genuine belief, and life transformation, in Jesus alone. Baptism Baptism is practiced differently in many Christian traditions. Baptism is not an act of bringing someone salvation; therefore, we embrace the diversity of those expressions at Grace. That means you could see some infants dedicated and others baptized. You could see young children baptized by immersion as well as adults. Our goal is to not create stumbling blocks for people when it comes to taking their commitment to Jesus to another level; instead, we want to be a trampoline to spring them to new heights! Communion Communion is practiced differently in many Christian traditions. Communion is not an act of bringing someone salvation; therefore we embrace the diversity of those expressions at Grace. We take communion on the first Sunday of odd months. We take communion a variety of ways. At times we pass the elements down the rows. At times we all come forward and are served. At times we have families serve each other. Our goal is to not create stumbling blocks for people when it comes to taking their commitment to Jesus to another level; instead, we want to be a trampoline to spring them to new heights!
