About Cornerstone Reformed Baptist Church
We are a new church committed to seeing Christian's return to the teaching and preaching of the Whole Counsel of the Word of God. We need people, likewise, dedicated to growing in and sharing the Word, dedicated to Christ like living, and dedicated to bringing reformation to the Gulf Breeze and Navarre communities.
We are reformed because we stand in the historic Christian faith, and are seeking to see people return to these basic truths of Scriptures embodied in the 5 solas (alone statements), the historic creeds and confessions, and the commitment to teaching and understanding theology (literally meaning the study of God).

BELIEFS
We hold to the 5 solas (latin meaning alone statements). These were the key doctrines which arose out of the Reformation about 500 years ago. These are the most essential and fundamental teachings of the Bible. These 5 solas are outlined below:
Solus Christus or Christ alone means that we believe in Jesus Christ as our only hope for salvation and the way any of us can know God. Jesus is God in human flesh, who came on earth to live a perfect life, and die the death that we deserved as our substitute to pay for our sins.
Sola Fide or Faith Alone means that we believe we are justified through faith. Because we are by our very nature sinful, we cannot merit God's favor, but must simply through faith rely on Christ's righteous to save us from our sins.
Sola Gratia or Faith Alone means that we believe we are saved on account of God's grace alone. While we were yet sinners and deserving of God's wrath, God chose to set His love on us and to save us in spite of our sinfulness and bad choices.
Sola Scriptua or Scripture Alone means we believe the Bible is our ultimate authority. We live by the Bible's teachings, we believe every Word of the Bible, and we know that the Bible is sufficient for all that we need to live the Christian life.
Soli Deo Gloria or To The Glory of God Alone means that we believe the ultimate purpose for all things (and by extension our very existence) is the glory of God because He is perfect, sovereign, and worthy of all honor, praise and glory.
We generally adhere to the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith, which you can read in modern English at www.founders.org/library/1689-confession.
