Meet The Pastor
Lead Pastor Harvey Mitchell, Jr.
Pastor Harvey grew up in a pastor's home and is a 4th generation Assemblies of God pastor on Both his dad's and mother's side. He started the ministry in 1996 serving on staff at his father's church and soon after left to attend Central Bible College in Springfield, MO. Pastor Harvey Graduated in 2003 with a B.A. in Pastoral Ministries and returned back to his father's church to serve as the Business Administrator and College Pastor. During his 13 years of Ministry serving on staff at his Father's Church he served as College Pastor, Student Ministries Pastor, and Executive pastor. While he was on Staff he felt the call to pursue further education at enrolled in Mennonite Brethern Biblical Seminary (Now Known as Fresno Pacific University) where he earned a Master of Divinity (MDiv.). Pastor Harvey has also been accepted into a Doctor of Ministry (DMin.) program at Talbot Theological Seminary starting Spring 2018.
When pastor Harvey came to Orland First Assembly he was single and during his time in Orland God brought his beautiful Fiance Karissa Sywulka into his life. They are currently preparing to marry June 2017. Karissa Sywulka comes from a long line of missionaries. Her father was a missionaries kid in Guatemala and Her mother was adopted in Bolivia by Missionaries. Karissa received Her B.S. Degree in History with a minor in music and has her clear credential from Biola University. She currently teaches at Alma Heights in Pacifica, CA.
Both pastor Harvey and Karissa Look forward to serving and living in the same city together!
