About Bloom Lutheran Church
Our Story...
There is a group of people – a gathering, if you will – who meet on a regular basis in Santa Clarita, CA. When they gather, they sing songs and pray prayers that open their hearts to God and God’s dreams and hopes for them and their larger community. They listen to the sacred stories, the “words of wisdom and words of life” that emerge from the Bible. And, they listen to each other’s stories, sharing life with one another while also sharing coffee, tea, apple cider, or anything else that a Keruig 2.0 can deliver.
Some of them come because they need a worshiping gathering where they can feel like they belong to a family – a family made up of many different types of families, but a collective family nonetheless. A place to belong. A place where no one is judged. A place where all are loved and accepted, just as they are.
Some of them come because they are tired of being performed at during worship services, rather than being guided into participatory gatherings. A worshipping community that does not have to rely on fog machines to bring us into the heart and mystery of worship.
And others continue to come for a myriad of other reasons.
All of us come, though, because we love God and we love one another.
We are Bloom Lutheran Church because these stories serve as the seeds we have sown to create and cultivate a new church community. We are growing, emerging and blooming. Following our savior and teacher, Jesus Christ, we are called to cultivate a worshipping community in which people experience God’s love are empowered to live authentically and love unconditionally.
