Meet The Pastor
Pastor Stephen Mechem
Steve Mechem is the Pastor of Second Baptist Church. Steve has been an ordained American Baptist minister since 1986, serving churches in Madison, Indiana; Rapid City, South Dakota; and Decatur, Illinois.
Steve believes that church works best when we do it together. He believes that God calls us, regardless of race, ethnicity, social status, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or theological bent, into a supportive community of faith wherein we encourage one another as we pray together, play together, and serve together.
Steve feels especially privileged to be serve Second Baptist Church where a sense of openness and acceptance permeates.
