About St. Francis Old Catholic Church
The Old Catholic Church is a community of faithful people around the world. The faith tradition began with early Christians in the Netherlands who followed the teachings of Jesus. His teachings on justice, peace, compassion, and equality molded the early church and her faith. Old Catholics profess a faith of action. We believe that to have faith requires us to act with compassion and love in all things and to work toward peace, equality, and justice among all peoples, but especially the oppressed and marginalized, poor, and sick. We take seriously Jesus's commandment to, “love one another as he loved us”.
We are a community that gathers together as often as possible to share the Eucharist. To fellowship with one another and to work towards our goal of bringing the Kingdom of God here and now. The Altar is open to all Baptized Christians who seek to encounter Christ. The Old Catholic Church is a church that offers refuge and hospitality to all who walk through her doors. Whether your faith is strong or you have no faith at all, you are welcome here amongst us sinners to worship God through Christ.

BELIEFS
The Old Catholic Church is an ancient faith tradition with progressive theology. We adhere to the first 7 Ecumenical Councils and the Nicene and Apostles' Creeds. We are an inclusive Catholic church where we value the full participation of all the members (gay, straight, male, female, black, white, etc.).
We are a Eucharistic community. This means that when we worship it is a Eucharistic service. We celebrate the Eucharist because as often as we do it we remember and honor Christ. All present participate fully in the worship.
We are Relational. This means that we take Jesus' instruction that we are to Love God and our neighbor as the supreme commandment (Matthew 22:36-40). We focus on building close bonds between each other as a community built on mutual respect and love.
Being an Old Catholic requires committment and dedication, it's not just something you do on Sunday morning. As Old Catholics we fully participate and committ ourselves to following Jesus and that requires a priority check within our lives. An Old Catholic doesn't just come to Mass on Sunday morning hear the sermon and take communion and leave as if we are merely consumers of church, instead we become hosts -- we take ownership and actively participate in church. We support the Church with our time, talents, and financially because church is the vehicle by which we as Old Catholics share the Good News that God is Love and desires a relationship with each and every person. We show that desire by how we interact with one another; our love for each other tells others that we are followers of Christ.
