Senior Pastors Derek & Susan Dunn
Derek is passionate about God, people and life in general! He believes that the most fulfilling and exciting life we can live is a life of total surrender as a disciple of Christ. His exuberance and passion is contagious and is expressed through all that he does.
Derek is not a novice when it comes to Church or ministry. As an ordained minister for more than 20 years, Derek has traveled to 25 nations of the world as a missionary, conference speaker, Bible teacher and church consultant. Before returning to Orange County, he served as the Executive Pastor of one of Asia’s fastest growing churches, City Harvest Church, Singapore and was a staff for 16 1/2 years. There he experienced revival and explosive growth and saw the Church grow from 1,500 to more than 32,000 in average weekly attendance with 76% being first time decisions for Christ. He experienced the power of discipleship in sustaining a move of God.
Upon receiving the call of God to return to the US to plant a Church and upon receiving the blessing of the leadership, Derek, together with his wife Susan co-founded City Harvest Church, Orange County in Irvine in March 2013. Their desire is to see revival and restoration and for America to return to her discipleship making roots.
CHC was founded with a vision to “Raise up fervent disciples of Jesus Christ who love God, love people and love life”. The move of God now comes to Orange County in a fresh worship experience. We would love for you to join together with us in seeing this vision become a reality!
Susan is originally from Singapore. She is a successful business woman in the marketplace who manages a clientele base of more than 500 clients. At the same time, while serving alongside Derek in Singapore, she provided pastoral care to 250 church member as a lay leader.
She pioneered City Harvest Church’s Aircrew Fellowship in 2009 and was able in the span of four years raise up 20 core leaders and touched the lives of hundreds of flight attendants, many of whom gave their lives to the Lord and were integrated into the local church.
She is a seasoned platform speaker and preacher – having spoken to audiences both in the religious and secular arena. Together with Derek, they have provided counsel and support to many individuals and married couples.
Susan is especially passionate about the ministry among women. She has a vision to help women navigate through the different seasons of their lives by practically applying the Word of God and leaning on the Holy Spirit.
Derek and Susan have been happily married for 13 years and have three children, Ethan (12), Erin (10) and Erika (8).
